I try to leave my friends with food for thought. Today I realized when times get as hectic as they always will. First, do nothing at all and find absolute silence to gather your thoughts. Second, do not be afraid to cry if at all necessary. You must prioritize and address the things you can change in the immediate future. Last, remember progress is the only perfection existent to mankind.
One day I went o the lake and felt inspired to write. I did not take the time to make note of the poem that went through my head at the time. I feel bad because it could of been the poem that changed my life or yours. Next time this happens to you promise me you will not make the same mistake!
MY ART IS MY EXPRESSION TO THE WORLD. I DO NOT KNOW ALL LANGUAGES BUT MY ART SPEAKS TO ALL MINDS. WHEN I LOOK AT MY CREATIONS SOMETIMES I CAN NOT SEE THE COMPLETED VISION. AT TIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO LET ART BE AN ART.-TIFFANY SOUTHALL
Spring is here and so are the butterflies! This week I have a gallery of a particular group of butterflies called Brushfoots. Brushfoots are the most commonly known and encountered of the large colorful butterflies (excluding the swallowtails) found in Florida and the Americas. These include the monarchs, fritillaries, buckeyes, and the viceroy below (who has nearly identical markings as the toxic monarch butterfly) to keep it from being eaten by birds.... cool trick, huh? :-)
Click the butterfly below to see my gallery - and please let me know what you think!
So... Today is the big day we've been working toward for about 3 months now. The Fine Print is hosting the first ever Collide! art/music show at The 51st Street Speakeasy. Doors open at 3:00pm. Music starts at 4:00pm. The entire upstairs is filled with amazing artwork on display, exclusively from artists right here in Oklahoma. Coop Works will have some beer to try out, and The Speakeasy will have free food available throughout the day. Come stop by and have some fun with us tonight. Let's start something new for OKC together... Collide!
