Devin Byrnes, Josh Sullivan aka Shwa and Matt Sanborn combined forces in 2005 and they quickly found their place in the local DJ scene picking up residencies at the largest clubs in Washington DC and Baltimore such as Nation, Club Five, and Sonar.
Between gigs, you can find these guys in the studio producing original songs and remixing house tracks. Their music released under the name "Exit" aka "Exit Only" have been featured on DJ mixes around the globe, such as Roger Sanchez' show - Release Yourself as well as John Digweed's Transitions radio show. Exit's music can be heard on mixes from DJs like Mark Farina, Inland Knights, James Curd, Diz, DJ Mes, Littlemen and even Derrick Carter.
Exit's signature sound of funky, jackin house can be heard on labels such as San Francisco's Om Records, Greenskeepers Music of Chicago, as well as Guesthouse, Alphabet Music, Igloo, Kolour, Tight Recordings, and Footwear. One of Exit's remixes for Montreal based Kinjo records earned the title of 1 selling track on Stompy, (June-July 2008) one of the largest retailers of digital dance music.
Behind the decks, Devin, Shwa and Matt are known for creative mixes, moving the dancefloor with generous portions of funky, swagger jackin, soulful, house music. They prefer to mix on two mixers with anywhere between 4 and 400 turntables to keep a constant mix – their idea of a 'live' remix. If you're anywhere near the dance floor, expect to find yourself dancing.
Exit music is also available at these fine record shops:

"James Curd of the Greenskeepers turning in a funky as fuck EP for SF's ever-popular Guesthouse Music. Three stellar original cuts on offer here, all three deliver the goods with groovy live basslines, chopped up samples and that inimitable Greenskeepers vibe. Baltimore's Exit crew, who released a fine EP on Greenskeepers Music last year, deliver an uptempo remix to close out the EP. Their rendition should be right up Farina and DJ Heather's alley - quality prime time chunky grooves. Highly recommended, and of course another PRIMAL WORLD EXCLUSIVE!"
"Greenskeepers introduce Exit, three guys from Baltimore who are bound to make some serious noise this year. This four tracker does a great job of giving us a look at what these guys can do. "Feels Good" on A1 is a funky and bouncing DJ friendly track with vocal snippets and dope keys. "Serenade" on A2 revisits a very familiar Patrice Rushen sample (Number One) and adds some cool spoken word vocals and guitar hooks. Flip over to "So High" on B1 which picks up the pace and is more of a peak hour jam with a deep rolling sub bass. It's been getting plays from Diz and DC and is a great track to set the night off right. "Rock It Don't Stop" on B2 rounds off the package nicely and has a fun, funky driving feel that goes off. Another rockin release from GK, and a fine first offering from Exit."
Nick Maurer is a co-founder of the Chicago group Greenskeepers and father of tongue-in-cheek sound that made the band one of house music’s best kept secrets. His new solo title “Wash My Hands” is proof of Maurer’s uncanny ability to make the dance floor move and smile at the same time.Musically, Wash My Hands is a funky steamroller that will flatten anyone that dares stand in its way. Remixally speaking, Wash My Hands is a cornucopia of musical pleasures featuring some of house music’s hottest talent. Miles Maeda, Thomas White, The Loopidy Goofs, Combined and Gramophonedzie push the track in a bunch of..different directions and make the song accessible to any DJ looking for something new and original.
