Never ones to rely on fortune, Matt Clark and Rich Patmore have delved deep to find a new kind of musical truth in the form of Exit Motel. What started out as a singer-songwriter combo reminiscent of the Simon & Garfunkel days soon became a more complete blueprint of lucid sound, provoking an undertone of The Police meets Faith No More.
So what..s changed? Apart from the line-up, it would appear the duo have a different pose, at least when it comes to their music. The last ten months have been a studio induced coma which has seen the band become almost obsessed with writing the songs they..ve always held back. One too many opinions have finally been put aside, where two-minds have been released to carve an album solely based on what they know.
..Flights Of Gravity.. is the debut album from Exit Motel which can only be described as a journey through sound. The delicately severe sound of Exit Motel evolves from Massive Attack-esque production to a rawness likeable to the likes of Mars Volta and Faith No More. Contributions from both Paul Ford and Myrrh-Cedez Gayle take this album to the verges of uncontrollable addiction.

Exit Motel – Flights of Gravity Record Company: The Cardigan Suite
I can`t say that I have heard about this band before. This is the debut album to Exit Motel. I have read a little about this band on different forums and discussion boards on internet that they are a very active live band and they have gone from being an acoustic band to be a more modern electric band. But they have some acoustic tunes on this record too.
This is alternative rock on its best. They have the great melodies and the cool sound. They have their own sound for this type of rock. They are not too commercial, but not too obscure either. I think this will give something to all rock fans, young and old.
The song “See my air” is my personal favorite on this album, but there is so many great songs to choose from, so it is quite difficult to decide which I like best. But the song “See my air” hit me first and therefore I concluded that this is the best song. The song is extravagant with power. It have some amazing guitar tunes and drums. It mirrors maybe not what the whole record sounds, but it is a song that feels good to listen to. The best acoustic song on this record I think is the song “Mirrors”, it reminds me of Nirvana.
“Ahh… Uncle Kenneth is reviewing a grunge album” you think now. “No” I answer. This is modern type of alternative rock, but with a touch of grunge. All in all they have their own sound.
I especially liked the guitars on this record. They are amazing! But also the bass guitars deserves medals. The vocal is kicking ass, to use proper language. They are amazing too. I can`t come up with words that are not superlatives about this record. You have to check it out yourself.
If you are going to buy one record this summer, it have to be Exit Motel`s “Flights of gravity”. This reminds me of a mixture of Nirvana and Soundgarden.
Another song ("Ain't Gonna Wait") is available for your aural pleasure.
It's as catchy as a tune can be so enjoy it and tell your friends etc.
Here's the last call for video #1 @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NutUFs9nK_M
