Worship at oneChurch is birthed from a true desire to live lives of worship. We function as a worship ministry through the principles established in Romans 12:1. This passage states, “Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship.” Our worship is derived from this passage because we understand that songs are not enough. Songs are merely an avenue for us as a collective body to express our love for Jesus. In the Message, Psalm 50 states, “This is God, your God, speaking to you. I don’t find fault with your acts of worship, the frequent burnt sacrifices you offer.” At the end of the chapter he says, “It’s the praising life that honors me.” You see God honors our songs, but what He really desires is a life of praise. The Israelites were so caught up with the process of giving their burnt offerings that they missed the point that it is not the act of offering that is worshipful, but rather a life lived in obedience that offers true worship. Songs are our burnt offerings, but they should never be focused on as the primary method.
We believe that worship should be vibrant and joyful. Worship should look like a celebration! We want people to be freed of spiritual bondage and for them to be alive in whom Christ has made them to be. We are free to live in him. We are free to dance and sing in His presence. We worship a God who used amazing creativity to create us and our world; therefore we will use the creative abilities he has instilled in us and use them to create and atmosphere of worship.
About me: oneChurch is a new church meeting in North Clarksville committed to reaching real people who haven't connected to God through the traditional church. Many Americans don’t go to church—and their numbers are increasing . 70% of Americans are not connected to any local church in any significant way. To put it another way, there are 210 million people who don’t go to church in America. That figure is staggering. If you combined all of the people who don’t go to church in a people group, they would make the 11th largest people group in the World!
We want to create irresistible environments that allow the unchurched to take a second look at Christ and His church. We long to be a place that is casual, relevant, fun, and user-friendly, and allows people a safe place to ask questions and investigate Jesus and His Word.
We are a church that takes the never-changing truth of Christ and incarnate it into an ever-changing, emerging culture by studying His Word, studying our culture, and allowing the two to intersect in foyer environments where outsiders are comfortable and welcomed as they hear God’s message communicated through creative, energetic, and relevant ways through various mediums of preaching, worship, music, drama, and movies.
I just listened to the past 2 serve=ices...loved hearing the service but would have enjoyed it more had I been there. I think I have found a similar church for myself here in AZ. It is hard waiting for the time when I can come back at least for a visit!
