Exitproject is a two-piece folktronica band currently based in York, England. Their debut single, 'Healing Slow' features organic instrumentation laced with electronic influences. Emi Jarvi's honest, laid-bare vocals and J Carmichael's Acoustic guitar are matched with electronic drum samples, synths, twinkles and the occasional kitchen appliance. Their music is melodic and harmony-drenched, their lyrics strike a balance between authenticity and artistry.
Chicago-raised Emi Jarvi and Englishman J Carmichael formed Exitproject in 2007 and immediately began to generate interest. Their original music was chosen by Life Fitness, one of the largest suppliers of fitness equipment in the world, to launch one of their new lines of fitness equipment. Exitproject were flown to Las Vegas to perform to a sold-out crowd in the legendary Ghost Bar on the top floor of the Palms Hotel. Shortly after their Vegas headline, Emi was asked to provide vocals for Grammy-nominated DJ, Paul Van Dyk's label, Vandit. Among all the excitement and activity, Exitproject found time for a mini-tour of the northern-central USA. Venues included Uncommon Ground, where Jeff Buckley was famously discovered.
Exitproject have just released their debut single, 'Healing Slow', available now on CD and for digital download early in the New Year.

Hey! Thanks - was awesome to meet you, and it makes a massive difference to have nice people around when I'm about to go on stage! Makes me much more cheery!:D
Really enjoyed your set as well - Emy's got a voice like Lori Carson who I'm a big fan of! U ever heard her?
I don't know about festivals, it depends on the deadline. The Leeds Film Festival last year was awesome, I'd love to submit something to them myself. And yes, it's be great to have some musical collaborators on board, I'm sure. I'm not so up on the technical stuff, I'm the creative sort, but I might be going to university to study Media/Performance so I can have the confidence with the technology. See you at the next Hum Drum nite then!
Well, do let me know if you've any upcoming...yes, I act mainly, I'm in the upcoming 'Hum Drum' film with Miles, the ones they showed before your City Screen Gig, we are doing the last shot next week. I've just written a short about a man who is stalked by someone leaving him cakes, it's going to be in an Alfred Hitchcock style...
