Sounds Like
What you'd expect music to sound like when it's made by one guy high on drugs using mediocre equipment in the wee hours of the morning. Sounds like you're being too judge-MENTAL.
I'm Brandon, aka brand-0 Matic, the sole contributor to this project I call experi-MENTAL Disorder. It seems I've been making music using this name for the better of 5 years, but as I'm sure you haven't heard of me, you can see I haven't been in the pursuit of fame and fortune. I just love music and love making it and since I gained the capabilities to record it, I've been creating things with sounds like a kid builds stuff with Lego. It's not coincidence I was a huge Lego maniac as a kid and I think that mentality kind of bled over into music for me. I've just been making my own blocks out of sounds and piecing them together in various, random ways during the life of this project. Since most of it was done rather spontaneously, it's all just snapshots in time and could never be repeated or played live. Nothing is written ahead of time and what I use to make the sounds I create is whatever is most easily accessible and convenient at the time. All I need is a sound to get the inspiration for creating my audible lego blocks and once I have the blocks, all I do is piece them together in ways that are visually appealing to me as a whole. Yes, it's strange, but that's what the whole original theme of experi-MENTAL Disorder was about.....experimenting to bring order to the disorder of my mental instability through music. As the years have gone by, I've expanded my musical palette which has undoubtedly shaped my music as well. I've managed to make it this far, though, without using samples or extensive loops, which I'm sure one way or another will eventually end up as another tool at my disposal. I have, however, had to do all the drum programming since no live drums were used in the making of my music so in that sense I've deviated from the samples and loops stipulation. All other sounds were made and played by me on guitar, bass, or keyboard, and I also have vocals here and there in some songs. As of late I've drifted from recording much guitar due to the continued convenience of my midi keyboard. I don't know where experi-MENTAL Disorder is going, but I know I'll always be making music that will be influenced by the sounds and tools available to me at the time.
