Explicit, better know to his family and friends as Jamie Giroux was born Sept. 16, 1982, at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough, Ontario Canada. Although Growing up in a broken up family east of Toronto in his early years, Explicit didn’t lose his positive out look in life, instead used it to take in the true meaning of music. For that 3 to 4 minutes that he listen to whatever was his favorite song at the time, he forgot about his problems and escaped into a fantasy world from the harsh reality of everyday life.

Explicit moved with his mother to Keswick, where he attended numerous schools because of his family situation. Eventually, Explicit moved back to Scarborough with his father where he finished his education and currently resides. Explicit was introduced to music at a very young age, going to concerts with his father — his first being the Moody Blues. Since that day, he dreamed of entertaining and performing for live audiences.

Explicit has utmost respect for people “that are true to themselves and don't represent themselves as something that they're not, especially since Hip Pop is about being yourself.”

Although Explicit has only been in the music scene since March 2006, he has set the bar for future up and coming artist with his first song hitting separate charts respectively in Germany, Canada and US on internet radio. "Got it All" has propelled into the #1 charts in Germany and US last summer to only be backed up the following weeks with "What I'm All About" taking its place.

His newest smash hit entitled "National Pride" has surpassed all its expectations with fans of all ages as he is the first artist to ever attempt and successfully remake his country’s national anthem and notching him a nomination for the 2006 Toronto Independent Music Awards.

Explicit has also been noted in several magazines and radio station as the next future rising star in the Canadian music industry but still seems to stay level headed through out all the media hype. With remarkable talent, motivation, hard work, Explicit is planning on taking over the Canadian market in a genre that has been untouched by any other artist. Explicit’s debut album “To Dyslexic To Comprehend” is in the early stages of recording. Once finished, Explicit plans on going on a nationwide tour for the fans.
