The beauty of nature, poetry - writing and "the Powerful Play", all types of art, photography, my daughter Alexis and making her smile, horseback riding - which I never get to do, all kinds of music, improving knowledge of myself, my environment, and my quality of life
Music
I was raised on Elvis - (my mom always said "all the women wanted him, and all the men wanted to be like him" that's why he was the king - her favourite part was his lips sorry mom, I just think that is cool!), Kenny Rodgers, Dolly Parton, and Neil Diamond (she never thought he could sing), but my dad was the one that liked him, and country music. These are the ones that stick out in my mind. When we went to my grandmothers house in Edmonton(my mothers mother), Lawrence Welk was always playing on the television in the evenings, and of course as a kid I would roll my eyes waiting for it to end, but now I get why they watched it. It was classy, beautiful and it was the style of music they enjoyed. As years have gone by I have discovered quite a vast selection of music has touched my heart. The strongest ones have been country music, bluegrass, mountain music and MOST importantly rock, and for some reason (and I really do not know why) celtic music which is odd because I am of British and German descent. I have also seemed to end up in relationships with men from eastern Canada. Families from Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, P.E.I. etc, have always impressed me, as they usually share my attitudes and beliefs and haven't been handed everything on a silver platter and usually are the salt of the earth. At the same time I still go through stages where I have to hear my HARD rock which gets me through the times when I just want to go on a 7-11 hostage-taking spree. I've never been much into the soft rock stuff, it usually makes me woof. I have usually gone more for the extremes. From Rob Zombie to Vivaldi.
Movies
Most movies based on true stories are good, even the ones that seem as though they are. REALLY depends on the director, and his choices. The ones based on silliness are great too when they are delivered well.
Television
ALL television series' based on 'reality' should be tossed in a vat of battery acid, and people that watch them regularly need to get out more.
Books
Books are for educational purposes leading to employment, insightfulness, self-evaluation, growth and learning about others or the world around us in order to deal with it better, and of course sheer entertainment and escapism which to a degree, is fine. Other than that - the rest that tell you the kind of person you SHOULD be - how unfulfilled you MUST be - how empty your life HAS to be - how you have to improve your life no matter the condition to keep up to social change, are out to steal your hard earned dollar, and the AUTHORS that write that kind of trash can kiss my white Canadian ass. There are certain things in this world since the beginning of time that need not improving, but media will wind you up so much you will think it does. My suggestion? Get off the ride ....
Heroes
Those that are heroes, are too humble to know or admit such an atrocity, and those that think they are need a good *thumping*.
I have a few poems I would like to submit to Canadian companies eg. magazines for publishing, that wish to capture the heart of the Canadian people. I have already submitted a 1st class poem to general publishing companies, that was declined thrice

Born and raised in Edmonton. My dad moved the family around alot, he thought he was in the army I guess. My mom has a fantastic memory for dates and things like this, and for 23 years of marriage, he moved a dedicated wife and 4 children 23 times. I have been married once, and am proud to say completely faithful for 6 years until there was nothing left for me but to just leave. For many years I worked in offices not interested in anything the colleges or universities had to offer. I have tried my hand at pulling cable on construction sites to working in a police station as a volunteer - a career move I am happy to say I chose not to enter. My last choice was Occupational Health, and now, Social work. We will see what happens. I now have a lovely daughter (not from 1st husband) that is the most beautiful and sweet natured creature, I never thought I could ever have, as I thought I was destined to birth a 'hellion'. Everyone that meets her, falls in love with her, and strangers stop to stare. How proud I am. If she is not smiling, she can always can be made to smile unless she is very tired, really needs to be changed, or ill, which is rare. It took 8 minutes to bring her into this world. As for the 12 hours before - I am sure the hospital staff hates me, especially the head nurse I swore at, telling her I didn't want to see her face again unless she had drugs. They were all shocked. "This woman is in extreme pain without pain killers and she is extremely upset! What could be her problem!" My god. She has been a joy ever since. People have said to me "Does she ever cry?" All I have heard from doctors, nurses, pediatricians and other health professionals since she was born is how healthy and strong she is, how alert she is, and beautiful, what more could a parent ask for?

MY ALTER EGO in a Matrix style universe, loaded with every gun knife grenade and throwing star, not to meantion the skin tight outfit putting Lara Croft to shame, where I could join her in all her aggression relieving tactics on all the scum that walks the earth without actually hurting anyone in reality (a legend in her own mind); ADAM SANDLER - his movies kill me every time I watch them, and he is a gem of an actor; BIF NAKED because she is an artist with a soul that touches so many of us and of course the best female rocker out there that pushes the limits; JIM CAREY - the best comic since Jerry Lewis; HEATH LEDGER rest in peace man, COLIN FARRELL, and HUGH JACKMAN, - as they are the epitome of hot; SHANIA TWAIN - she had the smarts to marry the right man and the beauty and natural talents to keep it going, they tried so hard to bring her down, she did the right thing and stayed in the shadows; MICHELE PFEIFER - a brilliant actress who came and realized she wasn't willing to sacrifice it all so she stays away from it all, admitting openly she hated interviews; PRINCESS DIANA - just to be in the presence of beauty and grace, not originating with nobility (which drove the royal family nuts as England loved her more) which is why she was eliminated, pretty sure she's on a remote island somewhere her boys go and visit (at her funeral I watched 2 boys that at times smiled at the crowd and did not look like they just lost a mother - what a bunch of bull).
