EXR Music Services began life as Extraordinary Rendition Manchester Musicians' Collective and originated in Whalley Range and Chorlton, Manchester, England. We formed in February 2006.
Our web address is www.exr.org.uk. For a couple of years we set up many live music nights and events and generally paid musicians for the work they did. Check out our old myspace videos!
Now, as of Autumn 2008, we are focusing on EXR MUSIC SERVICES - REHEARSAL ROOMS, RECORDING, INEXPENSIVE PA & LIGHTING HIRE, FILM/PHOTO AND PRINTING OF POSTERS/FLYERS - based in one of the old Ancoats mills off the ring road near the Northern Quarter. We have SIX rehearsal rooms available, just £25 for 3.5 hours including all the PA, amps and drum kit. An ADDITIONAL £50 gets you a roughly mixed 8-track live recording of your rehearsal PLUS the WAV files to take away for further mixing. We can produce your posters and flyers cheaper than anywhere else in Greater Manchester. Our PHOTOGRAPHIC/VIDEO stage area, fully stage-lit, is currently underway where you will be able to hire film/camera equipment to produce your promo material at an affordable price. Call 07545 520 148 for further information on all of the above. www.exr.org.uk
Please join our forum and subscribe to our site mailing list for updates. Also, please feel free to leave your comments below as everything you have to say would be greatly appreciated.

Evan Parker - saxophones Stephen Grew - piano Phillip Marks - percussion
An all too rare appearance in Manchester by one of the great masters of the saxophone... Evan Parker has been at the forefront of improvised and experimental music for over forty years, with a unique and innovative approach to his instrument that has been hugely influential. A master of extended techniques like circular breathing and multiphonics, he's made over 200 albums with artists like Derek Bailey, Scott Walker, Robert Wyatt, Spring Heel Jack, Michael Nyman, Spiritualized, Cecil Taylor, John Stevens, Gavin Bryars, Brotherhood of Breath, Basil Kirchin, Peter Brotzmann, Han Bennink, Tony Oxley, Steve Lacy, Anthony Braxton, London Jazz Composers Orchestra, Globe Unity Orchestra, Stan Tracey, Chris Corsano, Jah Wobble, Sainkho Namtchylak, Vic Reeves, Thurston Moore etc etc.....
He is joined by Stephen Grew on piano and Phillip Marks on percussion who have been making their own contributions to the world of adventurous improvisation for over 20 years. Those of you who saw them at last years Manchester Jazz Festival will know just how good they are...
