..A Wildlife Documentary Television Series..
Produced by Off The Fence, for Babelgum TV, in association with WWF International.
Extinction Sucks follows the real life adventures of two best friends from Perth in Western Australia. Conservation duo Aleisha Caruso and Ashleigh Young are a far cry from the khaki-clad, safari suit wearing scientists one usually associates with the word -'conservation', and they'll go to any lengths to bamboozle people into parting with their money to help endangered animal species around the world.
The girls’ sense of foolery and adventure infuses every challenge they take on, but they never sugar-coat the facts or shy away from telling it like it is.
In each of the series’ half-hour episodes, the girls are challenged to mount an expedition to help a particular species of animal. Their unique fund-raising stunts publicise the cause and carry the message that anyone and everyone can do their bit to help.
Their journeys around the globe are never easy. Our cameras are right in the thick of the action as Aleisha and Ash race against time and battle with the elements to fulfill their mission. Getting to the location in one piece can be as big a challenge as the mission itself!
The girls finally bring us face to face with the animal and its kind, allowing us to get to know each individual they work with along the way.
Extinction Sucks is a refreshing take on the conservation message. Aleisha and Ashleigh have a very different approach. To them, conservation isn’t about suits and summits. It’s about taking charge and taking action – and having loads of fun along the way as they help to keep the animals they love protected from extinction.

In Sumatra, Indonesia, illegal logging is threatening the habitat of the last remaining Sumatran tigers. This logging is causing problems for both animals and humans, and must be stopped immediately.Didy Wurjanto, head of the official nature conservancy agency in the area, has taken steps to stop this illegal practice. Please ask Wurjanto to do everything possible. Six people were recently killed from tiger attacks in Sumatra in less than a month. Three tigers were also killed by civilians in this same area. This battle for territory cannot go on, especially when these tigers are not only fighting for their lives, but fighting for existence.
Fewer than 400 Sumatran tigers remain in the wild, and we must do everything we can to protect these animals and the forests they call home.
Please sign today to help stop illegal logging in Sumatra.
Thank you for helping save these tigers!
