HeroesWhen I was a kid, I found all of my heroes in comic books like Spider Man, Superman, and Batman (no father around).

When I joined the USMC as a young man, I looked up to the likes of "Chesty" Puller and Dan Daly (Marine Corps heroes).

Today, I see my heroes every day in the members of my family. My kids are perfectly innocent and wise and I treasure their beautiful perspectives on all things vital and important. My sweet and beautiful wife is the perfect mother and our children are a tribute to her intrinsic goodness.

    About me:

Kindly allow me to introduce you to my second book and my first novel entitled, EXTRAORDINARY MAN.

As a Marine Corps veteran of Desert Storm and the product of a very humbling childhood, I understand hardship firsthand. Today, I am a devoted husband and the proud father of three young children. While considering my next writing project, I focused upon my family and my own early experiences for inspiration. My novel, EXTRAORDINARY MAN, is a gripping story about human triumph over adversity. Through traditional storytelling in the first-person, the narrator draws the reader into his vividly painted memories. He recounts his extraordinary journey from the fearful little boy to a proud young man with an indomitable spirit; along the way, surviving the wrath of a hateful and savage stepfather, kidnapped for an adventurous summertime, witnessing a boyhood friend’s grisly death, fleeing from the undead as a paperboy, seizing freedom at 16-years old, finding inner strength in the Marine Corps, and discovering true love in a fated letter.

Won't you read the first 3 chapters of my novel (located within my Blog here on MySpace) and then give me your feedback?

    TABLE OF CONTENTS:
    Chapter 1. Building Character
    Chapter 2. Kidnapped!

    Chapter 6. E.Gore

Jack - Thanks for introducing me to your book! I really enjoyed your writing style! You were very descriptive which left me imagining everything you were going through without feeling the pain. I thought of "Mommy Dearest" which was written about Joan Crawford's life when you were forced to address Dan as "Sir". I can't imagine living in fear of someone for so long and looking to escape someone's wrath everyday of your life. Outside your escape to "the Ranch" Dan must have been on your mind constantly every time you approached your home as you indicated in your story. Stress no one needs to live through. I do hope your real father endured his accident on the horse? I was hoping your own mom would have stepped forward but survival is survival and thank God for "Hazel". I just wanted to end my post by thanking you for your service in "Desert Shield". Having hind site now, I am only sorry that Saddam's scourge could not have ended with the "Desert Shield" operation. I wish you all the success with your writing career! Take care - Pat

BTW, I didn't know what that white electrical line which encircles the pastures were used for until I was warned directly never to touch it by the woman whom I was helping on a Dairy farm.
So, many hidden dangers a city slicker like myself never would have imagined!

    Hello Jack
Thank you for inviting us to read your novel, and I'm sorry but I have to say that I do feel sorry for any child that has to grow up with a monster like Dan. Your story I'm sure brings memories back to many grown-ups, seeing some of what they went through in their life.
Yes I also asked myself where in the world is Mom, I being a strong independant woman would have taken the beatings for my chid, but yet that is me and you explained about your Mother. Then I wondered where is your Father, but after reading further into your story, I understood. So far what I have read I can honstly say that I would purchase your novel.
    Thank you again

    Hey Jack,
Tonight I am going through withdrawals...(missing reading your chapters.) I got so involved in the story line...Now I have none to read. What will I do? It's an awesome story...though violent and sad.
It was good reading as long as it lasted!
