Music by Francesco Giannico and Stefano Spataro HYSM PRODUCTIONS http://www. myspace. com/haveyousaidmidi 4 Sonatas for electroacoustic thoughts is a microcosmos of modified sounds, folk-derived loops, noise nebulas in which it is not easy to see the light. The soundscapes are rough and elusive, but well-balanced, and never excessive. The work (4 tunes for a total length of about 20 minutes) comes from a collaboration between Francesco Giannico(www. myspace. com/markhamn) and Stefano Spataro(www. myspace. com/solquestprojects). In a pragmatic sense, the album is a mix of field recordings of an audio/video installation about Taranto's Ilva (made by Francesco Giannico) and electronic oscillations/acoustic hints (by Stefano Spataro). Nonmaterial sounds, layered over and over, folk memories and Interstellar Space strikes clash with discordant string lines and melodic scraps of an unspecified nature...
