Eyes to Space will rock your robot sock hop! Tone-bending blasts from frontman Jay Cartwright..s homemade keytar punctuate complex, hook-laden songs, executed with technical precision, that anachronistically
sample many genres while emulating none. The catchy rhythms of ..60s pop, the blissed-out chord progressions of grainy educational filmstrips, the bombast of post-rock guitar, and the bouncy synth melodies of old-school Nintendo.. all get distorted through the ironic lens of nerd-gone-underground. Songs about science and humanity, the dread and hope for apocalypse: never have tunes so thematically bleak been presented with such glee. This is music that..s aggressive, witty, dark and fun: dance music for the robot intelligentsia.
The band has recently put the finishing touches on a four-song EP, which they
plan to distribute as part of a national promotional campaign. While Cartwright continues his production of the new lineup..s debut album, Eyes to Space, as busy as ever, continues to play shows both locally and throughout the Southeast.
