Funk101 Beats originated as an innocent side project by drummer Dwayne Douglas and keyboardist James Scariati. Using the Apple composition program Garageband, the two began creating hip-hop beats with Dwayne's catchy rhythms and James' trademark licks. Gradually, the collection grew large enough to separate into three volumes: Heat, Logic and Smooth. The beats have drawn significant interest from local hip-hop artists, and a select few are now on MySpace for the world to hear. Expect plenty more Funk101 Beats in the future, as new ideas and inspirations are constantly flowing.
