In February 2008 a large series of tornados ripped across the southern United States, reaping havoc throughout many rural and urban localities. One of the hardest hit areas was the Rosalie, Alabama community, destroyed by an F4 tornado. Incidentally, this community received no national media coverage to highlight the loss of their friends, family members, and homes.
Currently, Rosalie, Alabama has no tornado warning siren
in their geographic region due to the lack of resources to
implement this much needed protective equipment. It is the
mission of ..F4 Art Storm' to raise the $18,000 needed to
purchase a tornado warning signal for Rosalie, Alabama.
What We Are Doing
F4 Art Storm' will be an art and craft exhibition on
Saturday May 3, 2008 planned and hosted by students at the
University of Minnesota - Duluth, currently enrolled in a
recreation class entitled “Large Events Management.”
Artists from across the United States are invited to show
and vend their work at UMD in the event exhibit hall and
asked to contribute individual works to an auction geared
toward our fund raising effort.
Sponsorships
Sponsorships are welcomed in the form goods and services needed to run and host our event. This can include but is not limited to food items, supplies, furniture, and volunteer time.

Registration
Artists can register for a space to exhibit/vend via a couple different options. Below is posted our registration form, you can copy and paste this image into a program of your choice then print it out or you can save the image to your computer and print it out. Otherwise, please call or email using the contact information stated below. We will then gladly e-mail you a registration form. Space is limited, so please register well in advance.
The fee to register is $15 if post-marked by April 11th and $25 for registration forms post-marked after this date. One piece of your work is also required to sell in a silent auction to raise funds for the community of Rosalie, Alabama.
Writers, painters, sculptors, crafters, clothing makers, jewelry makers, musicians, photographers, etc... If you have an art form you'd like to share, we need you!
Attendees are invited to come for free and are encouraged to give a donation at the door.
