12.12.09 - House Of Bricks
Des Moines, IA - All Ages - 5pm
Since 2001, FACECAGE has been building a foundation in the metal music scene from the ground up.
Hard working and industry minded, they have established popularity with fans, promoters, and publications alike. They have toured extensively and shared the stage with many professional acts, as well as appearing at numerous festivals. Their relentless grass-roots efforts and national attention have made the band a quickly growing force in the metal scene. Their combination of driving rhythms and creative songwriting allowed them to transcend the “Nu-Metal” genre tag of most of their contemporaries, and create a new flavor of solid metal. 2002 saw the release of the self-titled FACECAGE which garnered national attention and radio play. FACECAGE was named one of the top 20 unsigned bands by XM Liquid Metal Radio and the Metal Post of San Francisco named the album “The best independently released CD of the year for 2002.” FACECAGE continued touring solidly all of 2003 beginning with an invitation to the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. They carried the momentum built from the first record straight through to the next. In 2004, the band released their second full length album, tagged “II”. The buzz surrounding FACECAGE’s music and live show continued to grow. Their third full length album, tagged “III”, was produced by Corey Taylor, of Slipknot/Stone Sour fame. Corey not only produced the album, but along with FACECAGE, founded the independent label imprint Great Big Mouth, to release the record. With the local label as a vehicle to promote their independent music, they proved themselves a viable and successful commercial entity. During the years following the release the band has only grown in strength and status. With press in worldwide publications and numerous national magazines, FACECAGE’s presence is becoming more and more known throughout the entire metal world. 2009 will see the release of the fourth full length album with Corey signed on to produce as well. Behind the scenes FACECAGE is a self-contained machine. With a loyal crew since day one, they have proved themselves fast, efficient and professional on stage and off. Every member of FACECAGE’s team is as important and integral as the band themselves, and allows FACECAGE to provide an exciting show time and time again regardless of any constraints. FACECAGE has persevered through the gauntlet of independent music, and is dedicated to their art and profession. Now looking to the future, the band is ready for the next tier of success, and looking for the right team to help them achieve it. Combined with their established fan-base, name recognition, and tireless work-ethic FACECAGE is ready to rise to the challenges of the next opportunities that will solidify their place in the future of metal.
