Picture-perfect Tamara Wroclawsky is not only beautiful, she’s talented. ULTIMATE Pink was lucky enough to have Tamara share with us her journey to becoming a professional photographer. Have you ever wondered what's behind the lens? Take a closer look into this shutterbug’s head.
I had a rough childhood, having gone through the divorce of my parents, a rebellious teenage life, and a very tumultuous marriage in my early twenties. However, I later remarried and gave birth to my son, Noah, who reignited my hopes, dreams, and passion for life.
When I started Face On By Tamara, I was a housewife with limited resources, but I took my little camera and my makeup case and asked someone if I could make them over. After that, it started to evolve into something much greater. I couldn’t stop, it was almost like an outreach, I felt so rewarded and I’m so passionate about it.
I have experienced a lot of ups and downs in life, and have learned from my mistakes as well as my successes. In fact, I learn something new every day. I have to think outside the box, borrowing props and making sets out of things from around my home. I have worked very hard every day for three years to make Face On By Tamara happen. I started with a Canon Powershot camera and used that camera for the first year of my career. I had no equipment, no studio, just me and my camera. But I was driven, I knew I had it in me, and I wanted to prove I could do this. I have upgraded, and now use professional Canon equipment, but it’s still pretty much me and my camera.
Although professional models are beautiful and easy to photograph, most women are not the typical, beautiful (perfect) model, but to me I know with the right attitude and the ability to use makeup, every single woman has the potential to look and feel beautiful. Shooting an average woman compared to a professional model is so much more rewarding. I love shooting models, too, but there is something about making an average woman simply light up.
I feel like God gave me a gift, and I want to use it to help other women. I have felt ugly and broken in the past. I know what it's like to have low self-esteem. It’s amazing what a friend, some makeup, and photos can do for your inner soul. When I have a client that has never done a photo shoot before and feels unattractive, looks into a mirror after I give her a makeover, and then emits cries of pure joy—that’s the most amazing feeling in the world. Every woman has it deep in her soul and just needs a little help getting it out. I can’t explain how rewarding it is to have women tell me I made them feel and look beautiful.
Most of my clients are stay-at-home mothers, the girl next door, brides, and just “normal women” wanting to look amazing. One of my first clients I shot was a shy woman with low self-esteem; after she looked into the mirror and cried, she looked at me with tears in her eyes, and said, “thank you, Tamara, for bringing me back.” I don’t just put makeup on them, snap a few pictures, and send them off. I become a friend to them; I love to take the day to spend one-on-one time with my client. I put my heart and soul into every photo shoot.
It was my vision in the beginning to help people—use my gifts and talents to inspire them—and it still is. I want to be remembered not just as a photographer, but a woman that had such great passion for making women feel beautiful, for making people laugh, and giving people memories they can cherish for a lifetime.
Now, not only do I have fun living my passion and dream, but also make a living at it. I am very blessed.
I'm a mama, photographer,makeup artist, graphic artist, set designer and much more! Face On By Tamara pretty much consumes me. I eat, sleep, and breath Face On By Tamara. I also work with a very talented costume designer named Celina with Buzz Buzz& dezign. She makes all my costumes for my Twisted Tales Series and hair bowz, hair flowers and jewelry. If you would like a custom made costume for a shoot she will make one just for you! I am now back in orange county! I always have a special going on, so just ask. I just had my second child Nov.8th 2008!
I DO ALL TYPES OF MAKEUP AND PHOTOGRAPHY. WHAT EVER YOU CAN DREAM UP - I LIKE TO MAKE IT COME TRUE. PEOPLE LIKE MY SMOKEY EYES, MOST GIRLS I SHOOT WANT THEM...I GUESS I HAVE A SECRET TO THEM.. I DO KNOW THEY ARE SEXY AND MAKE YOUR EYES POP! BUT, I LOVE DOING ALL TYPES OF MAKEUP.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MODEL TO HAVE A SHOOT. IN FACT IVE ONLY SHOT A FEW MODELS - MOST OF MY CLIENTS ARE JUST "NORMAL" GALS. MY PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE.

THE MOON ROSE ABOVE THE HORIZON BUT IT NO LONGER HAD ITS CRAZY EFFECT ON ME ANYMORE. THE STARS SHONE BRIGHT, BUT THEY DIDN'T MATTER ANYMORE EITHER. THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERED WAS THE BURST OF COLOR OF THE SUNRISE......THE COLORS BURNING THE SKY LIKE NEVER BEFORE BRINGING THE PROMISE THAT ALL MEN BREAK. THE SUN SO TRUE AND STRONG. DID IT NOT ITS FOUNDATIONS FORM THE MIRACLE OF LIFE THAT GOD CREATED SO? THE BURST OF COLOR IN ITS SPHERE HAS MORE POWER THAN ALL THE STARS CONBINED ...THE SUPER NOVA OF THE STELLAR LOVE THAT ONCE WAS. PERHAPS OTHER SUNS EXIST BUT WHO IS WILLING TO VENTURE THAT FAR FROM MY GALAXY? THERE MAY BE A ZILLION STARS IN THE SKY BUT MY STAR SHINES THE LIGHT OF THE MAKER OF EVERY PARTICLE IN EVERY GALAXY EVER MADE AND THAT LIGHT WILL NEVER DIE. SOME MIRACULOUS GOD HAD TO SPARK THE BANG ......CAUSE AND EFFECT. A LIGHT SWITCH DOES NOT TURN ON WITHOUT SOMETHING TURNING IT ON FIRST. THINK ABOUT IT. EVEN THE CLAP ON LIGHTS TURN ON WITH A CLAP FIRST....AND EVEN LIGHTNING CAN'T OCCUR WITHOUT TWO CLOUDS RUBBING TOGETHER........IT IS ALL PERFECTLY PLANNED. EVEN SCIENTISTS CAN'T RECREATE THE MAGNIFICENCE OF THE SUNRISE NOR THE CHEMISTRY OF LOVE ~♥
