About me:
Greetings, beauties. My name is Ashlee, I'm 19 years old, and I'm an up and coming makeup artist. I got into makeup artistry about two years ago, and have been learning and practicing as much as I can ever since. I am currently a Product Consultant at Sephora, where I assist clients with many different brands of cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance. My initial brand of choice was M.A.C. (Makeup Art Cosmetics), however I've recently expanded my interest into many other lines including NARS, Stila, Benefit and Dior.
I am completely self taught. I do not consider myself to be a "professional" by any means. However, I do learn through working with other artists, reading, researching, and experimenting. I have not gone to cosmetology or aesthetician school at any institution, so it's likely that there will be questions that I can't give the perfect answer to, but I'll try.
I'm pretty good about responding to questions in my inbox, but if I don't get back to you immediately, I'm not necessarily ignoring you. You may have a pretty complex question, that I either a) don't have time to answer or b) don't have the resources to answer. Even if I don't have the answer you need, I'll respond to you. But if you leave me a nasty response regarding my answer or lack thereof, you're only hurting yourself, because I'll make a mental note of it and be very reluctant to help you next time...that's just a heads up.
I won't answer questions about foundation matching, I can't possibly match anyone for any foundation based on a thumbnail photograph. I also won't answer questions regarding my salary; I'll ballpark a figure but I'm not gonna list my W2 form information for you. As far as what I charge, it varies from exactly how far I have to travel to a client, how much product I anticipate to use, whether I have to purchase anything (foundation, false eyelashes, glue, etc). And since I am up and coming to the industry, and I work and go to school and pay bills, I don't have a department store sized range in foundation colors. So if you have your own that's awesome, but if you don't, I can grab samples to use on you or you can go out and buy one and we'll work out the fee with adjustments.
