    Formed in the southern suburbs of Stockholm in 2005, FACESHIFT rose out of the ashes of then recently disbanded death metal act Eternal Oath. Veterans Petri Tarvainen and Peter Nagy (rhythm and lead guitars respectively) alongside new keyboardist Stefan Norgren formed the new band shortly after Eternal Oath's swansong "Wither" had been released, as they collectively felt that the death metal/growl vocals venture had been taken as far as it would go for them. This move would also enable Norgren to return to his main instrument, the drums. Enter vocal powerhouse Timo Hovinen, long time friend of the band, and FACESHIFT's debut "Reconcile" was written in a matter of weeks. The album was recorded att Offbeat Studios in 2006 with Nagy handling all bass duties and saw the light of day in 2007. "We were really pleased with "Reconcile" when we recorded it", recalls Stefan. "We had brought E O's goth influences, which were Peter's trademark, and merged them with a new, more powerful and to the point approach to songwriting which made a lot of sense at the time. Looking back at those sessions now, and listening to the album again, there are some great songs on it but it reveals a band that is in disagreement about which musical direction to go." Not surprisingly Nagy decided to call it quits in 2008, leaving the band lackin both a bass player and a guitarist. After a year long hiatus (during which time drummer Norgren kept busy as live drummer for well known Swedish band Lion's Share), Godphobia bassist Mika Kajanen and long time band friend David Bertilsson (lead guitar) completed the five piece and brought the band back to the Stockholm metal scene with full force! Once again a new full length effort was written in record time, only this time with die hard determination and fearless musical resolve! Long gone are the goth vibes and the keyboards! The bands new material oozes with crushing power, furious rage, compelling melodies and a new found confidence!
