Faction Zero formed in Northern New Jersey in 1993. The band played all over New York City/Northern New Jersey, in the mid 90s NY and NJ hardcore scenes.
The members of Faction Zero are hardcore / Metal scene veterans, having also performed in bands such as Against The Grain, Blitzspeer, 25 Ta Life, Punkinknucke, Son Of Skam, Subzero and others.
Faction Zero has released three CDs:
The full length 1997 debut CD "Liberation" was released on IJT records and is currently out of print. Liberation features the original Faction Zero line up and the hardcore style that FZ was playing in the mid 90s.
The War Stories split CD with NYHC band Against The Grain was released in 2003 and represented a later version with me (Chris)on vocals and is far more "metal" souding than earlier Faction Zero material.
The S/T Faction Zero CD was released in 2008 and features material from both the 1995 Faction Zero demo recordings (which has been noted as the best of the Faction Zero material) and two previously unreleased tracks from demos done for what would become War Stories.

Faction Zero also released two 7"s in 1995 on Division Records. These are still available via Division Records. These two 7"s contain the original 1995 demo recordings of Faction Zero.
Faction Zero has been featured in too many compilations to count (in fact, i lost track a long time ago) Notable among these is the Oi/Skampilation Vol 1 released on Radical Records - we have a live track of Inside on the disk. This was a recording of a show at The Grand in NYC. We were the only HC band that played, since we had a lot of crossover appeal to various scenes at the time. We also found our way onto the soundtrack of a low budget horror film called Psycho Sisters and onto some skate/snowboard videos also.
For many reasons over the years, Faction Zero has broken up and re-formed with multiple line-ups. The best (as is usually the case) was the original line-up of Bryan Essing (drums) Rob Yadimarco (vocals) Dave Urban (Bass) and myself (Chris D'Alessandro) on guitar.
Rob sang on Liberation and on both 7"s, I handled the vocals on War Stories.
When Faction Zero stopped playing full time as a band in 1997, I decided to keep the name alive and branch into opening a record label. It took a while, but the first release for Faction Zero Recordings was the War Stories split CD in 2003. Since that time, I have released several other CDs, focusing on local NJ bands ranging stylistically from punk to post hardcore and beyond. A little over a year ago, the original Faction Zero line-up had gotten back together, but we decided after some discussion to take the band in a new direction. That is how Kincaid (www.myspace.com/kincaidnj) came about. The line-up was Jesse (Nola) -Vocals, Chris (me) -Guitar, Dave -Guitar and Bryan -Drums. Kincaid material is influenced by music like Carnivore, At The Gates, NJHC, NYHC etc... more of a tuned down, brutal style . More thought out and technical in some aspects, but more down and dirty in others. You can check out Kincaid's CD "Wendigo" at www.factionzero.com Bryan and Dave have since moved on and Kinciad is filling out the lineup...
In the meantime Rob Yadimarco and myself have decided to form a new band called Five Points and continue along the lines of classic Faction Zero... originally we were going to do this in late 2007, but I was deployed with the NJ National Guard, so those plans are on hold for now.
£leTriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check £leTriKa out!
