Facundo Cruz nació en febrero de 1987 en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina y desde muy chico estuvo ligado a la música, criándose en un hogar donde ritmos como el rock progresivo, rock de los ochentas y la bossa nova, sonaban permanentemente. A los 10 años, comenzó sus estudios de guitarra interpretando principalmente rock, viéndose especialmente influido por artistas como George Harrison y The Beatles formando parte de varias bandas, perfeccionando más tarde su técnica en la Escuela de Música de Buenos Aires donde también aprendió piano y bajo.

A los 16 años, al escuchar discos de artistas como George Harrison y Ravi Shankar, despertó en él una curiosidad por la música clásica de la India que lo motivó a iniciar sus estudios en SaRGaM, escuela especializada en esta música, donde estudió Sitar y otros instrumentos. Su esfuerzo y determinación lo llevarían ese mismo año a tocar en vivo en varias oportunidades junto a su maestro, Ariel Chab Tarab.

Al año siguiente, influenciado por los sonidos de secuencias y sintetizadores de bandas y artistas como Sumo, Virus, Gustavo Cerati, Daft Punk y Kraftwerk que había absorbido a lo largo de su adolescencia, Facundo comienza a interesarse por la música electrónica y empieza a experimentar con su computadora grabando varios instrumentos y fusionando la música electrónica con sus previos conocimientos de música hindú a la vez de que comenzaba a presentarse en algunos clubes y bares dando comienzo entonces a su carrera en el ambiente electrónico.

Es así que comienza su carrera como dj, la cual lo llevó a presentarse en algunos de los clubes mas importantes de Buenos Aires como Pacha (Fiestas Ministry of Sound), Mint, Niceto, Big One, Caix, Bahrein y Pinar de Rocha llegando a compartir cabina con artistas como Above & Beyond, Valentino Kanzyani, Max Graham, Mauro Picotto, Umek, G-Pal, Marko Nastic, Dale Anderson, Pete Heller, Justin Robertson, Guy Gerber, Andrew K, Jason Jollins, Victoria R, Big Fabio, Festa Bros, Mercurio & Logistik Sounds entre otros. Sus tracks fueron firmados para prestigiosos sellos como Acute, Pissed Off Recordings, Existence, Kumquat Tunes y Balkan Connection recibiendo el apoyo de djs como Hernán Cattaneo, Dave Seaman, Paolo Mojo, Nic Fanciull, MOS, Anthony Pappa, Anil Chawla, Martín García, Deep Mariano, Leandro Fresco, Tommyboy, Sam Perez y Chloe Harris, entre otros. Ha remixado y trabajado con artistas como Deep Mariano, Mercurio, Leandro Fresco, Festa Bros, Masque y Baudelaire entre muchos otros. También fue invitado a presentarse en prestigiosas fiestas como S.A.M.C. (2007 y 2008), Compass (Niceto), Ministry of Sound (Pacha BsAs) y Versus Sessions.

Facu comienza el 2008 con el proyecto Bend Records, sello discográfico impulsado junto a Mercurio y los Festa Bros, y es ese año que firma su catálogo completo de temas con el Universal Music Publishing. Actualmente se encuentra cursando la carrera de Técnico de Grabacion y Pos-Produccion de Audio (Tec-Son) y la Licenciatura en Composición (UNQ) apuntando a dedicarse de lleno a la producción musical de bandas y artistas, más allá de los límites del ambiente electrónico.

Junto con muchos releases a salir a la venta proximamente y muchos otros proyectos en camino, el 2008 se presenta como un año lleno de trabajo para Facu quien a sus 21 años de edad ya se ha hecho de un espacio más que interesante en la escena local.

Facundo Cruz was born in February 1987 in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and since a very young age he boasted a close tie with music, being brought up at a household where rhythms like progressive rock, eighties rock and bossa nova were constantly listened to. At the age of 10 he began his guitar studies focusing mainly on rock and being especially influenced by artists like George Harrison, Nick Drake and The Beatles, taking part of several bands, improving his technique at the Escuela de Música de Buenos Aires (EMBA) where he also studied piano and bass-guitar.

At the age of 16, listening to George Harrison & Ravi Shankar’s records awoke in him a curiosity for classical Indian music which prompted him to begin his studies at SaRGaM, a school that specialises in this kind of music, where he studied mainly Sitar and the understandment of other instruments. His effort and determination took him that same year to perform live in several opportunities alongside his master Ariel Chab Tarab.

The following year, influenced by the sounds of sequences and sinthesizers of bands and artists like Sumo, Virus, Charly García, Gustavo Cerati, Daft Punk & Kraftwerk that he had absorbed during his teens, Facundo began showing an interest for electronic music and experimenting with his computer, recording various instruments and fusing electronic music with his previous knowledge on Hindu music as he began performing at some local clubs and bars in what constituted the first steps of his career in the electronic music scene.

This is how he began his career as a Dj, which took him to perform at some of the most important clubs of Buenos Aires like Pacha (Ministry of Sound), Mint, Niceto, Big One, Caix, Bahrein and Pinar de Rocha, sharing the booth with artists like Above & Beyond, Valentino Kanzyani, Max Graham, 16 Bit Lolitas, Mauro Picotto, Umek, G-Pal, Marko Nastic, Dale Anderson, Pete Heller, Justin Robertson, Guy Gerber, Andrew K, Jason Jollins, Victoria R, Big Fabio, Festa Bros, Mercurio and Logistik Sounds, among others. His tracks were signed by prestigious labels such as Acute, Pissed Off Recordings, Existence, Kumquat Tunes and Balkan Connection awarding him the support of artists like Hernán Cattaneo, Dave Seaman, Paolo Mojo, Nic Fanciull, MOS, Anthony Pappa, Anil Chawla, Gustavo Cerati, Martín García, Deep Mariano, Leandro Fresco, Tommyboy, Sam Perez y Chloe Harris to name a few. He has remixed and worked in collaboration with artists like Deep Mariano, Mercurio, Leandro Fresco, Festa Bros, Masque, Mr. Rogers, & Baudelaire among many others. He was also invited to perform at prestigious events like S.A.M.C. (2007 and 2008), Ministry of Sound (Pacha BsAs), Compass (Niceto Club), and Versus Sessions.

Facu kickstarted 2008 with the Bend Records project in full swing, a record label started by him along with Mercurio and Festa Bros, and it later that year he would signhis whole catalogue of tracks to Universal Music Publishing. Currently he is taking the Recording Technician and Audio Post-production career at Tec-Son and the Composition degree at the University of Quilmes, aiming at devoting himself completely to the musical production of bands and artists, beyond the realm of electronic music.

With a host of releases that will soon be at stores and many other projects in the pipeline, 2008 seems likely to be a year filled with work for Facu who, at 21, has already forged a very interesting spot in the local scene for himself.
