AMBITION. The one word that has characterized Fading Doubt ever since their birth in August of 2005. In just two years, this pop/rock quartet has become one of the fastest growing independent bands in the country, and continues to strive for their mission. As their name suggests, that mission is to help those fade the doubt that lies within them. With music written to capture hearts, Fading Doubt feels that they have been used in a powerful way. "We think its safe to say that God has used us beyond belief," says drummer Jason Lottmann. "The cool part is that you dont always know the results, sometimes its not for us to know. But we think God has shown us some of the doors that he has helped us to open... not only for ourselves, but for others, and were certainly proud to be a part of that."
The band has spent the better part of two years traveling the country, while writing music for their debut independent release entitled Blue Eyed Soul, which was released in December of 2006. "I think its a record that were proud of," says Jason. "I think as musicians, you're always your biggest critic, so there are some parts where we'd love to have another shot at. But, other than that, we think this record really speaks. It introduces Fading Doubt to the world very well." The album is on pace to sell 2000 copies in its first year, led by singles 'Beautiful' and 'Outside'. However, the band speaks most about a different song on the album. "The song that has stood out from day one on the record is Stand", says Jason. "That one was written as a gift for a friend who lost someone special in a car accident, but the song has gone on to do bigger things than that. I think people can certainly relate to it, as losing someone close to them has had its toll on many." The band will continue to tour in support of the album in the summer and fall of 2007, as support with John Reuben, as well as their own shows. They have shared the stage with bands such as SuperChick, Sanctus Real, Building 429, DecembeRadio, John Reuben, StorySide B, RED, Decyfer Down, Disciple, Fireflight, EleventySeven, Seventh Day Slumber, Dizmas, Wavorly, Last Tuesday, and more. In early 2008, the band plans to take part in a national tour called the Bring Me The Sun Tour, which includes Nevertheless, StorySide B, and Dizmas. Their second album is also in the works, due out in February of 2008.

you guys were really stellar. The last two songs especially had a lot of authenticity... you could tell you guys really poured your heart and souls into it. And you could tell from the music what kind of hearts you guys have... the music had so much love to it.
You'll have to come back to Memphis real soon. Kidnap that Amish kid and make him come along, as well.
