Since the birth in 1999, Fair Haven has been bridging the gap with their unique blend of original tunes & Celtic Rock and have carved out their own niche in contemporary Canadian Music.
Founded by the Eastern stylings of the Cook Family with Bob (Drums), Chad (Bouzouki, Mandolin, Guitar and Bohdran) and fronted by Rob (Bass and Lead Vocals), completing the Fair Haven line up are Joe Hertz (Fiddle), Liana Seidle (Fiddle) and the Irish traditionalist Paddy McCallion (Lead Guitar and vocals).
Fair Haven has played their music for audiences across Canada as well as along side of many great Canadian artists such as Spirit of the West, Colin James & the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, just to name a few.
Fair Haven's debut CD, The Chase, was released in 2000. "Recording opened our eyes to many new possibilities within our music" says Fair Haven's front man Rob Cook. It was a couple of years before their second CD, Better Days (2003), was unleashed onto the world and Fair Haven really set their direction into the Celtic Rock realm. In June of 2004, now realizing that Celtic Rock was their true calling they decided to really step up to the plate and call in the big guns. A call was made to Bryan Potvin (The Northern Pikes) to produce their third CD. After a month of preproduction, with Bryan, they hit the studio once again and the results were amazing. Although the whole CD was recorded, due to issues that were out of Fair Haven's control the CD sat for 2 years and has yet to be released. However, in March of 2007, everything seemed to fall back into place and now the CD is in the hands of Reed Shimozawa (Zuckerbaby) and is in the process of being mixed and mastered.
Through all the ups and downs, Fair Haven, has lasted through it all and are stronger and better than ever. Don't take anyone's word for it. Fair Haven is something that should be experienced.
