Fair Herald’s skillfully grainy sound reflects a repertoire that well belies their age. A group of college students scattered across the Midwest, Fair Herald’s flirtation with influences like Neil Young, R.E.M, and Wilco has ripened into a modern, pop-sensible take on their folk and country-rock influences.
After four years of crafting a dynamic, jangling brand of rock they can call their own, Fair Herald’s has been featured on both WXRT (93WXRT) and WKQX (Q101). Their current release, Familiar Streets (2008), was recorded at Chicago’s B-Side Audio.
Guitarist Mark Goldich joined the quartet of Mike Bellis, Sean Bacastow, Jimmy Bloniarz, and Dave Brankin in the Fall of 2008. Fair Herald returns to the stage in the Summer of 2009 with a tour of the Midwest.
Praise for Familiar Streets:
"Alt-country guitar ballad style and sunny mood and light percussion - similar to Whiskeytown or Old 97s."
