Carrying the weight of the world isn't easy, but it's good to know the Fairwood Singers have applied for the job. Shouldering the sadness with aplomb, the singers apply copious amounts of layered vocal harmonies to a stripped skeleton of drums, bass, acoustic guitars and piano to flesh out their autumnal soundscapes. Let's face it: sometimes you just can't bear to hear Death Cab for Cutie sing that "Ba ba ba" song one more time. Life gets you down. The fates conspire against your best efforts. The Fairwood Singers find beauty amongst the sadness and translate it into pure melancholy melody.
Dear Fairwood Singers, your sound is lovely. We are not as sad as you but we are equally mysterious. Perhaps we could cheer you up with a joke: If George Washington were alive today, what would he be most famous for? Old age!
I would love to if I could, but
the 3,000 mile distance keeps me from it.:-(
Your sound encapsulates the Northern California experience for me.
I can hear "bah bah-bahs" ala The Association. Totally. (Hey, I think Jillo stole...okay, permanently borrowed... an Association record from the CCI library in our freshman year. Ask her if she remembers that)
Hi from Glasgow and thanks for stopping by, it's good to hear from you. We really like the sound of your stuff, "September Sun" is a beauty, so keep it up... and look out for our new record, coming soon!
Hello,
thank you very much for the request, it's absolutely great being your friend. Your music sounds fantastic and I hope you keep up the awesome work!
My favorite song is "beach park"...
