I have crazy friends 
My family is even crazier! If I'm not writing, I'm watching & thinking... I need to write about that I hope I am always surrounded by people who can surprise a laugh out me Love, LOVE books and will read just about anything Yes! roasting marshmallows for s'mores is still fun! Looking for seashells at dawn or sunset- when all you hear are the waves and gulls Love animals & still haven't outgrown acting like Doctor Dolittle That moment right before a thunderstorm when everything feels wild and spooky- hope it's not some kind of Frankenstein thing Walking through a winter woods when there's this silence almost a hush over everything I hope to find the end of the rainbow someday Wrapping my child in a towel still warm from the dryer & hugging her Adventure! Hunting for lost treasure! just no, NO spiders!! I enjoy living where there's 4 full seasons, but Spring & Fall are my favorites! I'm not random- just have lots of thoughts zinging around in my head Enacting parts from Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail with my kiddo- complete with coconuts... that's my world
as we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. you'll have your heart broken more than once and it's harder every time. you'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. you'll fight with your best friend. you'll blame a new love for things an old one did. you'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. so take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
After a while you learn…
The subtle difference between holding a hand
And chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up
And your eyes open;
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child. And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain,
And plans and futures have a way
Of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that
Even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden
And decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure…
That you really are strong…
And you really do have worth…
And you learn and you learn…
With every goodbye you learn.
