    Faith Of A Martyr was first conceived in late 2006 by vocalist and guitar player, Alex B. Jr. When approached about the band’s name, he simply said it came to him out of nowhere one night and has stuck in his mind ever since; it sounded good to say and conjured up interesting thoughts. Living in Toronto, within a huge music scene, it wasn't difficult for Alex to find band members. Jared had been introduced through a mutual friend and one invite to rehearse in Alex’s recording space led to Jared immediately becoming the second piece of the F.O.A.M puzzle. Jared's twisted sense of timing and unique rhythms matched perfectly with Alex's insane riffs and burning solos, their sound was heavy and raw, but it needed more low-end and more growl... Enter an anomoly by the name of Julian. Ever intense, Julian’s quiet side is unnerving. Behind the pretty face hides a voice from hell that seems to leap out of him uncontrollably and it can peel the skin from his audience members' faces. His musical tastes and styles along with his lyrical flows and viciousness onstage solidified Julian as the third permanent member of the band that is Faith of a Martyr. Then along came the monster of low-end. With the addition of Bassist Tadd came nothing less than gritty, thrashy, heavy goodness. His grooves hover directly in the middle of the sound, elevating it to a new level and adding a new facet to the music reminiscent of his nu-metal and grunge influences. The group was now complete. Faith Of A Martyr is awesome in the purest sense of the word. They are fierce and loud and ready to roll into your town. The band is playing constantly and, just to name a few venues they’ve recently played at; The LANC in Kitchener/Waterloo, Katacombes in Montreal, Mavericks Bar in Ottawa, Bar None in Kingston, The Encore in Chatham, The Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort in Panama City Florida, Club Absinthe and Corktown Tavern in Hamilton, and The Sound Academy / Bovine Sex Club / and Downsview Park in Toronto. Their first EP was recorded in late 2008 at Metalworks studios in Mississauga and select songs have been played on Mohawk Radio in Montreal and York University Radio in the Greater Toronto Area to mention just a couple. 2010 looks like a busy year ahead. New live recordings are done and soon to be released. They are back in the studio with a new production team as of June ’10 and are recording new music with plans to saturate every ear on the planet with their dynamic, epic, eerie, awe-inspiring music. Their inspiration is limitless and they are always writing new music just for you….they want to meet you and they want to influence you. From Faith Of A Martyr, you can expect bigger and better every single time. Thick, sick chords, heavy shocking vocals, deep and dark lyrics, and the dirtiest rhythm section known to man......
