Bob Perna Original/Co-Founding Member of "Faith Or Fear" is stepping in to reclaim bass duties for the band.
Faith Or Fear will be starting rehearsals this week and concentrating on editing and finishing the video for "Afterglow."
They had to pull out of the two recently shceduled July shows, but are working to get a couple more shows together for you thrash junkies, so don't freak out!!

Rob Guidotti is leaving Faith Or Fear to dedicate himself full-time to his band "Hammerfight." Who were recently in the studio recording some tunes for an upcoming Movie Soundtrack, and just released The Official Video for "GET WRECKED." They will be embarking on a "Wrecked Coast Tour". So go Fuckin' check em' out!!
Faith Or Fear would like to thank Rob for his dedication and the energy he brought to the band, and for keeping the Faith Or Fear fires burning!
I'm sure C.J. would have been proud!! You will be missed!

    We are very excited to announce the addition of Rob Guidotti on bass.He hails from Boston,but is originally from Atlantic City and has played/toured with The Dropkick Murphys,Far From Finished and Street Dogs.Bringing a new found energy to FOF,expect some of those hardcore/punk roots y...ou know and love to come to the surface!........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ Formed in 1985, Faith or Fear is a thrash-hardcore band from New Jersey and actually hailed from Philadelphia in the height of it's popularity in the late 1980's. FOF has played with many bands including Sepultura, Overkill, Dark Angel, Death, Morbid Angel, Wrathchild America, Forbidden, Metal Church, Flotsam and Jetsam, Crumbsuckers, Nuclear Assault, Biohazard, Hallow's Eve, Anvil Bitch, Hades, Deadspot, Devastation, Vicious Circle, Whiplash. FOF has been on several large independent record labels such as: Metal Blade Records, Combat Records (most notably the worldwide release of "Punishment Area" as featured on "The Ultimate Revenge 2" COMBAT Video/Soundtrack) and most recently Century Media Records. Faith or Fear Co-headlined an entire US tour with Sepultura in Nov-Dec of 1989. FOF has also appeared on MTV's Headbanger's Ball several times also in 1989-1990. Although Overkill offered Chris Bombeke a position to play lead guitar, he declined and instead passed on the position to ..Merritt Gant.. who went on to record and tour with Overkill on the Horrorscope, I Hear Black and WFO albums. Soon after his departure from FOF, guitarist Chris Bombeke was involved in a nearly fatal Jeep accident which took him several years to recover... .. After a 19 year hiatus, all the original members reformed in May 2008. They embarked on a successful string of aggressive and energetic live performances which quickly attracted the attention of .."LOST AND FOUND RECORDS".. President "BRYAN J. ANDERSON," who had a vision to make public, lost FOF archives written in the mid 80's and early 90's, as well as reintroduce FOF back into the thrash music scene. The result, "INSTRUMENTS OF DEATH," a collection of previosly unreleased material, and re-recorded versions of these extremely rare, lost classics. A mixture of old and new, it is a realistic history of music which best describes "FAITH OR FEAR" to it's very core! .. .. After the tragic death of original bass player "CLARENCE C.J. JENKINS III" occured, while Faith Or Fear were performing on stage back in September 2009, former FOF Guitarist "BOB PERNA" stepped in to take over the reigns and fill in on bass. .................................................................................................................................................... Tuesday, February 21, 2012... AQUELARRE ZINE FROM PERU INTERVIEW WITH CHRIS BOMBEKE ... 1-It is a great pleasure to interview you Chris after all these years. Now for those who don't know about faith or fear tell them a little bit about the background of the band and describe what you think the band sound like?... -The band was formed in 1985 after being influenced by Exodus, Mercyful Fate, Megadeth, Metallica as well as some punk bands like Black Flag, Dead Kennedy's, Misfit's etc. We wanted to mix a little thrash with some hardcore music so that's where the sound was born. Then after playing a lot of shows in Philadelphia we attracted the interest of Metal Blade Records and after that Combat Records. We were always labeled as the "East coast band with a West coast sound" I guess that worked out for us. ... 2-How long was the band around for and what led to the break up of the band? What were some band highlights in your eyes and some low points and what that are some regrets you have about the band, if any?... -The band started playing live in 1986 and we broke up in 1990. Highlights are touring the USA with Sepultura for the "Beneath The Remains" tour in 1989 as well as doing a mini tour with "Biohazard" in 1990. Not many low points- we were just kids and having as much fun as we could while it lasted.... 3-I remember watching the Combat Tour 2 (Ultimate revenge) on video and let me tell you: faith or fear was awesome in that show ,can you tell me what do you remember about that killer event?... -It was very exciting but we were also very nervous. We had never played such an important show before with all the cameras & crowd. So cool to play with Death Angel & Forbidden although we had already played a show with Death previously. The good news is that we learned from that experience and in time we became a stronger more confident band. You can hear that on the "True Life" Demo which eventually was put on the cd "Instruments Of Death".... 4-Was writing songs easy or hard for the band and don't you miss the days of writing people letters and mailing out demos?... -Writing songs seems to come easy as long as we decide to work on the days that we feel really creative inside. Otherwise it can get very tough and there isn't much forward progress. You always can feel the days that you wake up and say.."I have a killer idea and i'm going to grab my guitar and work this into a great song". I do miss the days of Demos & writing letters back & forth although the internet makes it easier & faster to communicate.... 5-After the break-up of the band did you or any of the other band members join any other bands?... -I was offered by Overkill to replace Bobby Gustafson, no audition or anything, Bobby Blitz just called & said, "Hey Chris, Faith Or Fear has played with us many times & we like the way you play. We want you to come and join right away". Although I was honored, I didn't want to continue with metal at that moment so I asked Blitz to try out Faith Or Fear's other guitarist Merritt Gant who eventually got the job & played with Overkill for 3 years. Some of us played briefly in local cover bands but that was because we needed to take a small break from headbanging. Then I had a terrible jeep accident and spent many years in the hospital & having surgery. The skull that's on the cd with all the Titanium plates & screws in mine...it's an xray taken after the accident. It's what the song "Titanium" is about....the accident and then the recovery in the hospital. After about 17yrs we decided the break was over & we should start thrashing again.... 6-Have you ever seen anybody selling the hard to find first cd "Punishment Area" on ebay?... -Yes, and I try to buy it as much as possible to have some extra copies!! The Century Media version was remixed though and sounds much better than the Combat Records' version.... 7-Do you still follow the scene at all and what were some of your favorite bands back in the day and are you still listening to them now?... -I follow as much as I can. Voivod & Slayer are still favorites. I was a big fan of DRI, the Crumbsuckers, Cro Mags, Bad Brains as well.... 8-If i'm not mistaken you toured with Sepultura back in the day ,tell me about that experience and what other bands do you know from Southamerica?... -Yes, We toured the whole USA with them in 1989 and became very good friends...it was a great experience. I'm hoping to get some promo music from South American bands so I can be more familiar with their thrash music.... 9-There's a lot of fans in Peru that remember the legendary faith of fear ,i hope someday you can play over there ,what do you think about touring southamerica in the future?... -Touring South America would be a dream come true for Faith Or Fear....South America stands at the top with any other country as far as their loyalty to good metal music. I know this by watching record sales and crowd reaction when bands come and tour their countries....Peru, Brazil, Argentina etc.... 10-Do you have any specific expectations for the new cd "Titanium"?... -Just want it to get into as many hands as possible accross the entire world & in every country. It is the first new music we have written since 1990 and by far the absolute heaviest & best...hopefully the listeners will be able to clearly hear this for themselves.
