About me: When Henry Byron took over ownership of the Fall Cafe in the late 90's, Smith St in Carroll Gardens was a very different place. One could look one way and another and see next to nothing except closed down storefronts, a park you didn't want to walk through at night (though walking through any park at night is ill-advised), and Carroll Gardens natives... mostly families that had lived in the neighborhood for decades.
A lot has changed since then.
Smith St thrives as a dining and shopping hub in New York City, the park teems with new families and neighborhood regulars, and a lot of shops have come and gone. The Fall Cafe remains, virtually unchanged. Prices have come up since 1998 (surprised?) but you'll still find the funky-chic quasi-bohemian artist and armchair political analyst hang from ten years ago and, most importantly and what we pride ourselves on, GOOD STRONG COFFEE, served by a staff of friendly young folk with opinions and a BS meter ready to blow, and ready to talk your ear off about it.
Which is exactly how Henry wants it.
Come see us...
