Cecil Johns used to tell me, "What's before us and what's behind us are small matters compared to what's within us. And when we share them with the world miracles happen."
A few years back I was completely lost with no sense of self. It was the worst time of my life. After a difficult time I got back into Zen, drawing and an education in an effort to find myself and to evolve as a human being. Which led me to the best time of my life. I found out I have more strength than I could have ever imagined.
I spent my teens and twenties on drugs, booze and women, not entirely a waste but the only thing I have to show for it are physical, emotional and mental scars. I sobered up a few years back don't drink, do drugs or smoke anymore. Got into weightlifting as a positive outlet for the things I would attempt to suppress with booze and drugs. The experiences I had in the past are important to me. I would not change a single one. The difficult times helped enlighten me to important personal change. They led me to this present point in reality. Through it all I wanted to contribute something to our little rock hurtling through space.
I want to teach others the skills with which to create. To give them the knowledge and vocabulary to express themselves. WOOOOO HOOOO Graduated. Now I am applying to as many Japanese language exchange programs as I can.

our last group meditation session was an enormous success, we had not seen Musashi in many seasons... information can be found here on all the senior brothers of the asylum, known collectively as the dead lotus society. the information is recorded on wood boards in the inner garden area. with descriptions of current work, past work and a small bit of history on each member you can get to know them better and even leave a message for any of them with initiate Zao.

I got an itch again to produce a comic book I started a very long time ago. So I will be putting out a book tentatively called "ichido - the one way". As I root through all my notes and sketches and familiarize myself with my (so many years ago) voice I will edit it and start sketching it. Once I have some product I will start throwing it at anyone that will read it. Probably release it as a web comic that will eventually be put into a paper copy.
