Fallen Ave (Ave as in rhymes with Dave, not short for avenue!) is a three piece, based out of Cobram, on the border of NSW and Victoria.
Fallen Ave formed by Beau Atkinson and Mitchell Flemming in early 2004, they recruited Josh Rayson for bass straight away.
The name....Fallen Ave, was taken from Josh and Mitch looking through a skate mag. Ave being the initials of Anthony Van Engelen and Fallen being a new company of the same name. It does hold a bit more meaning then that though. The band all share the lyric writing duties while Beau is the core of the music. Our band is highly self critical and appreciates feedback.
Mitch decided to leave. We're still great mates and everything. We've recruited Joe Secull and he is now bashing stuff for us, which is awesome. Due to Joe's style, there is evolution of the old originals and new stuff is taking another direction.
Since Joe has come aboard our sound has developed to the tightest act around. There's not a lot better than all finishing too complete silence after 3mins of ear bleeding rock. Our songs are becoming more complex with more than just the one idea repeated throughout the whole song. We've developed freak out sections and multiple riffs in songs. We're all very pleased with our new sound. The next thing is to start adding sections that increase and decrease in tempo to give that funny feeling like ur head is being pushed against a wall. Oh yeah.

Refuge Island. Lyrics by Josh. Josh wrote this song one day after Mitch told him to write a song about a signpost they saw everyday on the bus to school. This is the first song Beau wrote music for. Mitch wasn't impressed that Beau hadn't came up with some music for all of Josh and his lyrics after clearly expressing that he expected music for a dozen songs that they had wrote. They ran with the next riff Beau came up with. This song is constantly evolving, we keep getting sick of it so we add new elements to it, the most distinctive change was the groove feel that Joe gave it. King of the Goblins (Instrumental)(Obviously thats not Joe on drums, that's beau). This is the product of free periods at school and a live take of Josh laying down his bass one night after school. King of the Goblins. Lyrics by Beau. This songs was originally just the main riff Beau wrote while being pretty happy with things. He penned the lyrics after he's girlfriend dumped him. This song has evolved slightly too as can be heard from this original recording to the instrumental recording two years later.
Beau's Thing in C minor. Beau came up with this one night while fiddling with his 6 string acoustic. The string section he claims are just a wank that he had to add in.

hey fallen ave if you want gigs you should get in benalla! we always have stuff like for the local bands to play at like the battle of the bands which is soon and freeza concerts and stuff. you should get in touch with a kid called Peter Schnider coz hes always doing gigs and he knows all the people. he plays guitar and sings in bands and as a soloist and hes really good i think. theres actually quite a few people in benalla you should get to know actualy. theres this roadstop/resteraunt/hangout called zocalos lounge and they always have local bands performing there and they get paid. not much but they do get paid alittle. i hope that helps. -ellen oxoxoxoxo
