FALLGUY has been called the "eternal work in progress." Founded back in 2001 in Rochester, NY by former members of BUGHOUSE (NY) and NO RETREAT (PA), they set out to just make some noise and have some fun. The original line-up (Ryan McDonnell - Bass, Jim Callahan - Drums, Cliff Dean - Vocals, Alli Schill - Guitar) took their hardcore and metal influences to the local Rochester scene and formed a small but loyal following.
2003 saw the addition of Pat Loiacono on Bass and Ryan's movement to lead guitar and opened the door to a heavier sound for FALLGUY. A year later the band was stumped by the loss of Jim Callahan on drums due to pressing family responsibilities. After a long search for a replacement, Brian Callahan (no relation) auditioned and was immediately welcomed into the clan.
As time went on, Alli's obligation to her other band (The Juliet Dagger) became more and more demanding of her time and Cliff's responsibilities at home prevented him from being able to put 100% into being FALLGUY'S frontman. Once again the band found itself looking to fill holes.
The end of 2005/beginning of 2006 saw the entrance of Charlie Street on 2nd guitar and Matt Dalberth on vocals... like some sort of alien earthworm, the members get chopped off and just grow back stronger. With the bands varied influences and Matt's fantastic stage presence, FALLGUY looks to be a band that will be one to watch out for.
The end of 2006 saw the release of the long awaited full length CD "From This Pyre We Rise" on Hardside Records. As time went on, once again changes were made. With the exit of Brian Callahan came the entrance of Tony Castronova, another former BUGHOUSE alumni, on drums.
FALLGUY consists of former members of BUGHOUSE (Ryan, Tony), MOMENT OF TRUTH (Pat), WITHIN (Charlie) and 40 OZ. (Matt), all heavy hitters during their time in the Rochester scene.
I do a site you might dig. It's all about art, music, literature, and we're taking a firsthand look at medical marijuana in California. Check it out and spread the love. Carpe Diem, WJ
