About Falling Short *Sign up to the mailing list!!*
We love music. Writing, playing, performing and criticizing. If you haven’t been to a show yet, we would love to meet you. At the end of the day it’s you that keeps the dream alive, so please do, because we love to dream.
We’ve played a lot of shows. 300+ in the last two years in fact. A lot of these shows have been in regional towns. From Cairns to Port Macquarie, from Roma to Mackay; we’ve met a lot of people and are definitely better for having known you all.
At times we’ve had the opportunity to play with some much more established bands then ourselves. Switchfoot and Antiskeptic probably stand out the most. Always wisdoms to be learnt from those who have gone before you.
Small successes with band battles, song writing competitions, TV appearances and community radio play, have kept us going at times when it was hard to do so. It’s surprisingly difficult to keep a band together, let alone have any sort of ‘success’. Depends I guess, on your definition on success….
We love our bus ‘Austin’. He has seen way to many miles between 11pm and 6am between Sydney and Brisbane for one lifetime. We also love and have great respect for the people that have put in many hours for minimal (in band speak equating to ‘none’) pay. You know who you are.
If this is your first time reading this, please listen to the songs above. It’s the best we could do to communicate a piece of ourselves in less than four minutes. Thank you.
"Tonight’s headliners Falling Short aren’t short on energy as they work the nubile audience into pop-rock bliss. The local four-piece nail the quiet/loud dynamic down to a tee, interspersing clean verses with chunky choruses and frequently launching into Californian rock-inspired riffage. Hulking guitarist Colin Moore (affectionately referred to as Mack Truck) could be confused with a State Of Origin prop playing Guitar Hero, however his stage acrobatics stop just short of somersaults while the bassist outdoes him in the show stakes by spectacularly slinging his instrument around his torso mid-song. Singer Dane Little’s performance is more than a touch Australian Idol but, as Paul Weller sang, the public gets what the public wants; the kids lap it up with glee".
