FAM Fest: Film, Art, and Music Festival is an annual event in Austin, TX featuring live music, art and photography displays, and cinematic installations - all in a festival atmosphere. Borne from a small group of film-makers, artists, and musicians, the festival was designed to give an opportunity for artists from all styles and genres to showcase and sell their works. That, and they wanted to throw a good party.
To make the whole thing worthwhile, each year proceeds from FAM benefit a different non-profit organization. In 2006 FAM raised money for the Sims Foundation and in 2007, for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Texas.
After the success of the first two events, FAM has returned with even more artists, photographers, musicians and video installations. FAM 2008 will include a week-long open gallery featuring an eclectic group of artists who will be showcasing and selling works of various media and two full nights of international short films and local Austin bands. This will be one heck of a show that you won't want to miss.
