Physical Abuse includes the such acts as shaking, beating,
burning, scalding, strangulation, and kickings, for example.
Sexual Abuse involves expooition of a child for the sexual
gratification of an adult or a person with power over the child.
Behaviors include sexualizing interactions, exhibitions, fondling,
exposing children to pornography and intercourse.
Emotional Abuse is a pattern of behavior that attacks a
child's emotional development and self-esteem. It includes
close confinement, verbal assault, rejection and the with
holding of adequate love, support ot guidance.
Neglect is the with holding of or failure to provide a child
with the basic necessities of life: food, clothing, shelter,
medical care, proper hygeine, education, and age appropriate
supervision. It also includes ignoring a child's need for contact,
affirmation, stimulation, and emotional nurture.

Child Abuse is usually not just one physical attack or a single
instanceof failure to meet a child's basic needs, although it
maybe. Usually it is a pattern of behavior taking place over a period
of time. It involves intentional acts committed by a parent,
caregiver ot person in a position of trust who threatens to harm or
harms a child's physical or emotional welfare. Child abuse and
neglect cut across all ages, races, gender, creeds, and
socioeconomic groups. It is a violation of the covenant that we
have to care for the "least of these."

United States.63.2 percent of victims are neglected.
18.9 pecent of victims are physically abused.
9.9 percent of victims suffer sexual abuse.
4.9 percent of victims experience emotional and psychological
abuse. Young children are the most at risk for being abused
and neglected. Both child maltreatment and domestic violence
occur in an estimated 30 to 60 percent of families where some
form of family violence occurs.
Estimates of the numbers of children who witness family
violence are in the millions.
I mean truthfully, who can actually tell you how to be happy? Happiness is such an unbodied form of expression. It has no real form or measurement. The smallest things can make you happy, so why do we always expect such huge forms of happiness from others when we should know that happiness comes from within.

One of the least expensive but most valuable gifts we can give at Christmas time is the gift of time. In our busy world, the phrase, 'I don't have time to...' has become a universal excuse. Like a growing plant, any relationship between two people can thrive only if it receives constant care. A phone call to an unhappy friend or a short visit with an aunt who lives alone can be a great gift that costs very little.
