Serena Fanara is an italian designer and artist. She has participated in various collective art shows, and she has created designs for italian festivals that have received national attention. The study of nature and its forms is central in her work. Many of her creations remodel these forms with materials that are very different from the natural substance. Sustainability, attention to environment, concepts of “re-using” or “re-living” are fundamental themes in her work. Light is also a recurring element in her research. It is studied as an architectural matter, but also as an object of aggregation and play. Serena is currently working as artistic director of the art space “Site Specific” in Florence. Opened in March 2009, its activities are based on a project she conceived on the theme of the relationship between art and ecology. In 2008 she graduated in Architecture with an experimental thesis entirely made on 3-D video animation, the first of its kind in the Architecture University of Florence. After this experience, she started collaborating with the University of Florence, where she leads a course on 3-D video animation for architecture .

Mi occupo di grafica e design, sono laureata in architettura e lavoro principalmente con installazioni e allestimenti x eventi musicali e artistici. Da giugno 09 gestisco lo spazio espositivo Site specific, presso l'Exfila di Firenze www.myspace.com/site.specific Disegno e faccio migliaia di foto, adoro la musica e oltre ai dj set, da 4 anni conduco la "zona d'ombra" su novaradio (101.5),trasmissione sul panorama indipendente italiano. www.myspace.com/zonadombrainradio
