Todd Fancey lives in Vancouver, British Columbia and was raised as a student of 70s AM Radio Gold. Currently best known as the guitarist for The New Pornographers, Todd has also crafted two albums full of energetic, supercharged indie pop (and studio wizardry) under his own band name, Fancey.
Anastasia Siozos, the lead singer of Fancey was born and raised in Vancouver and comes for a Greek background. Her songwriting collaboration with Todd began on his previous album "Schmancey", as co-writer of the song "Witches Night" and continued with every song on the new album. She started off singing back up vocals on the "Schmancey" album.
FANCEY released their country flavored single "All my friends on September 29, 2009. It is available on itunes, rhapsody, emusic, amazon and www.fancey.org.
With a brand new album in the can Todd and Anastasia are playing live shows in Vancouver and looking to take the new material on the road in 2009 and 2010. If you want to know what the new tunes are like you can listen to clips right here on myspace.
Fancey's music is most often and most simply described as "soft rock that rocks," but of course there's more to it than that:
"a varied, always melodic, and an often breathtaking tour through '70s pop and more recent indie pop" - AllMusic.com
"That pop music can be feel-good without being saccharine seems to be a point in need of reminder. Leaving a Post-It on the fridge is Todd Fancey, with his breezy, blue-sky debut. "Carry Me" layers sun-drenched Beach Boys' harmonies, bouncy Wurlitzer and the requisite escapist lyrics about leaving town or going into outer space." - Rolling Stone on Fancey’s 2004 debut
“…the coolest New Pornographers side project yet” –Boston Herald
In addition to recording and touring with The New Pornographers Todd also recently wrote a song for the emmy-nominated Dinner Party episode of NBC’s The Office. He also wrote and produced a piece of music for the upcoming series Caprica which is the prequel to the Battlestar Galactica television series.

Tumble weeds scattered when the 15 Cent Wash came in-on the scene. It was the late 1960s. This was a time for new revolution. It may have been forgotten ... but only submerged behind the mind. New services were provided, and the people forgot; into bliss - The clothes were clean and dry.
Hiya Todd - we've posted up a few videos of some acoustic versions of our songs if you fancy a butchers...sorry if you fancy a LOOK! We're all off to see Carl Newman tomorrow nite too - cool A x
Coachella was great this year (Leonard Cohen! Public Enemy! My Bloody Valentine!), but not quite the same absent the contingent from Canadia- The New Pornographers and Stars and Metric glittered in years past-
Looking forward to Caprica, and to the album- are you sticking with the Witches' Night name? Anyway-
