Attention! The idea of Military Science Fiction may seem like a subject not worth spending a whole lot of time talking about. However I would put to you that Military Science Fiction is deeper than that. Check out this weeks Defining the Genre to find out more!

About me:
(Please bear with me, I am still working on getting content to this page) My name is Kelly Melcher, and I have a reading addiction… Oh wait wrong meeting. I’ve been reading, well pretty much since I learned how, but I would have to say the literary world opened up to me when I was ten years old and my fifth grade teacher read The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe to the class. I remember thinking that we weren’t reading it fast enough, so I begged to get my copies of the Chronicles of Narnia so I could read them all for myself. Well needless to say I’ve been a bibliophile ever sense. I’m always walking around with at least one book in my purse at a time, and I often have “back up books” in my car. You just never know when you’re going to need a book. I am actually also almost always reading more than one book at a time… bad habit I know but it works for me. So if you haven’t noticed, I like books, I like to talk about books, and I like to be recommended books to read. My primary focus here is to get to review and discuss books not only in the science fiction/fantasy genres, but to also explore books that are maybe a little off kilter or otherwise interesting. I was originally going to box myself into a specific genre, but that would bore me to tears. So expect a little bit of everything, because I trully read a little bit of everything. Also if there’s a book you would like to see me review in the future please email me your book recommendations! On my myspace, I'll be a little less confined to subject matter (not that I'll ever really let that stop me) and discuss what I'm reading now as opposed to just reviews. Here's a great place to offer recommendations or ask me what to read.
Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone who likes to read even a little bit. I'd also like to meet authors, fellow book reviewers, and anyone who is interested not only in reading, but in what's going on in the book industry.

You know the people that say utopia isn't possible have already given up. Living sustainably in balance with our environment and food sources will bring us the freedom to live in harmony, and provide the opportunity for all to excel in their efforts, dreams and life path. Utopia is not only possible but it is the very essence that should guide our dreams and vision for ourselves and with each other. It is the horizon we should all strive for everyone and every nation. Anything short of that will lead us astray.
