Tell us how your interest in cooking started and at what age?
My interest in cooking began at the age of 6 when I was in the kitchen learning everything that my grandmother cooked right from making tadkas, rotis and creating my own version of every recipe.
Who were the biggest inspirations for your career?
Chef Imtiaz Qureshi from Maurya Sheraton in 1994 gave me a new insight into Indian cuisine and its global potential. Now, working in New York with chefs from around the world has broadened my cooking techniques and usage of ingredients.

It"s something no one can replace
It"s also something of true grace
When things sometimes don"t go your way,
your friends will be there, come what may.
They"ll always find it in their hearts,
to forgive and do their part.
To trust and always have hope and faith,
There are few things on this earth so great.
So treasure friendship from the start.
And hope that it will not depart.
For it will always bring a smile,
This special love that makes life worthwhile.
I just got a sneak preview of the new Sports Illustrated Annual Swimsuit issue... and I gotta say, I was APPALLED!!!
Apparently, giving supermodels those estrogen and hormone shots, on top of the cocaine many of them are ALREADY using, add to that all the chemicals in the cosmetics they use, and THEN exposing them to the tropical sun ---- well, it looks like it's starting IMPACT some of the girls...
I got some stuff for Christmas I can't EVEN IDENTIFY!!!
I asked for an iPod, but whatever THIS thing is, it's bleeding AND it's breathing.
.... And I Don't think the sounds it's making are MUSIC....
What did YOU get for Christmas this year?
Two Boxes (I hope I get this back. Please keep it going. This has been going since Dec. 1, 2000 ~ please send it on.)
God's Boxes
I have in my hands two boxes,
Which God gave me to hold.
He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box,
And all your joys in the gold."
I heeded His words, and in the two boxes,
Both my joys and sorrows I stored,
But though the gold became heavier each day,
The black was as light as before.
With curiosity, I opened the black,
I wanted to find out why,
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole,
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.
I showed the hole to God, and mused,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be!"
He smiled a gentle smile and said,
"My child, they're all here with me.."
I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,
Why the gold and the black with the hole?
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
The black is for you to let go."
We should consider all of our friends a blessing.
Send this to a friend today just to let them know you
are thinking of them and that they are a joy in your life.
A ball is a circle, no beginning, no end.
It keeps us together like our Circle of Friends.
But the treasure inside for you to see,
Is the treasure of friendship you've granted to me.
Today I pass the friendship ball to you.
Pass it on to someone who is a friend to you...
Okay, here goes, instantly when you receive this letter, you
should send it to at least 10 people to brighten their day,
including the person who sent it to you.
