Barney and Co., We appreciate the kind words. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week. Below are pictures of some of the wonderful back-up singers that we have had in Black Angel. The thing about this group (Andrea Buchanan, Shakira Baly, Melissa Gunther and Devera Edwards) is that they are not only singers, but three of them are professional dance choreographers who know all of the Ikettes old moves from the Ike and Tina Turner Review. The top picture shows Shakira and Andrea at Rusty's Surf Ranch at the Santa Monica Pier. The bottom picture shows Melissa, Shakira and Devera at Cole Stages in Hollywood. These photos were taken by the son in law of the late Keith Moon of The Who (Keith Moon's daughter's husband). We now use Lois Mahalia and Shalonda Young a lot more for Black Angel recordings, but all these girls are great singers and performers. I just recently found out that Andrea was my nephew’s math teacher at Fontana, California High School……and she was a tough teacher! Of course my nephew has that rebellious Martin blood running through his veins.

Barney and CO, Thanks for visiting our MySpace site and being our friend. We hope that all is well in your life. Black Angel released our third album in two years on Earth Day April 22, 2009. It is called "O' San Francisco". We asked Tiffany Lowe, granddaughter of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash (and daughter of country singer, Carlene Carter, and British rocker, Nick Lowe) to sing on the album. The top picture below is of Tiffany in the studio recording with us. The album is dedicated to a close associate of Black Angel who recently died who was a big Johnny Cash fan. We also have former Johnny Cash drummer, Danny Darling, playing on the album. We hope to be touring soon and we may be playing shows with former Black Angel singer, Audrey (Mrs. Ike) Turner. The bottom picture is of Black Angel playing at The Roxy in Los Angeles a few years ago with (left to right): Tomeka Haywood; me; Audrey Turner; and Ronnie Turner (son of Ike and Tina Turner on bass).
