Eli was live on Q106 radio out of Madison, WI - 106.3 FM. He did a short interview and played Wagon Wheel at 8:30 AM Thursday 12/11/08.

[Just gotta say - first off - this is a fan site. Not Eli's. He has finally joined and has seen the site. So please join and comment away.]
Hi, I'm Sari. Just one of many who were struck by Eli that first note he played on June 24, 2008 on the America's Got Talent TV Show. I am inexplicably drawn to this wonderful person and his music. Eli is an amazing pianist and singer/songwriter.
I'd been searching everything I could and joining whatever groups I could find; spreading the word and finding pictures and articles about him.
I've made friends and maybe some enemies (haha). But I wanted to do something with all the stuff. So I figured, why not a MySpace fansite for him.
Bear with me, I'll do the best I can. Anything you want to contribute will be appreciated. (btw, my name is pronounced like sorry but with a SH sound; you can see me in my pics.)
note - Since I started this page I have been in contact with all members of Eli's immediate family. They endorse this site and contribute information, pictures, videos, news, etc. for me to post here. They are a very supportive, loving and talented family and I greatly appreciate them allowing me to be a part of this wonderful ride they are on. Many of Eli's friends and fans also help me with this labor of love.

Eli Mattson grew up in the tiny rural community of Cotton, Minnesota (pop. 25) and playing the piano was simply in his blood, as he inherited a battered upright grand from his great, grandfather when he was 5 years old. He wrote his first song when he was 10 years old. With guidance from his mother, he essentially taught himself to play by creating his own music. When Eli's family moved to Green Bay 3 years later, Eli received his first formal piano training and, while he impressed his teachers with his abundant natural talent, he wasn't too impressed with what they were offering him.
"I hated to practice and would keep adding notes and riffs to the lessons because I thought they were boring."
Thankfully, Eli's mother knew that formal training would serve her son well and convinced him to practice every day and pay attention at his lessons. At age 14, when Eli was visiting his aunt in Chicago, his mother took him to see a blues act at Rosie's Blues Bar. He was in awe when the band leader asked him to sit in on the piano. Eli took the opportunity to play the blues with the band through the night. From this first onstage experience as a young teenager, he knew in his heart that this is what he would be doing with his life.
When Eli was only 19, he was awarded a prestigious grant from the Peninsula Arts Association in Wisconsin to help further his music career. Eli took to the road for awhile with his band but always considers Door County, WI home. He has been playing at local venues for the past several years and has garnered quite a large and varied fanbase there.
While listening to Eli's music you will be rewarded with influences from a wide spectrum of pop, rock and blues. You might hear hints of Elton John, Creed, Billy Joel or Van Morrison, but most of all, you will hear someone original, someone worthwhile. A star!
