    Sebastián Mella nació en Santiago de Chile, es músico autodidacta y arquitecto de la Universidad de Chile. Comenzó su trabajo musical formando parte de una banda de rock en el año 1999 (CCS). Después de dos años el proyecto se diluye e inicia la búsqueda de nuevas herramientas con el fin de estructurar su propio proyecto y componer libremente. De esta manera como nace "Fantasna", proyecto que se caracteriza por el uso de samples, texturas y patrones rítmicos propios de la pista de baile. En el año 2005 se une al colectivo y netlabel chileno Nomucho, lo cual le permite compartir los mismos intereses musicales con los integrantes del sello, en especial con Jefferson Family, banda con la cual ha desarrollado un sin fín de sesiones de improvisación en vivo en distintos clubes de Santiago. Al mismo tiempo esta plataforma le otorga la posibilidad de exponer sus producciones y poder tocar en vivo. Gracias a la constante actividad de nomucho.com, Fantasna ha podido compartir escenarios con destacados artistas nacionales e internacionales, tales como Cabanne (Minibar, Perlon) Jacek Sienkiewicz (Recognition, Cocoon), Yoshihiro Hanno (Op.Disc, Telegraph), Receptor (Sushitec), Dario Zenker, Bruno Pronsato,etc. Además participó del festival "Quinto sol" realizado en el muelle Barón en Valparaíso junto a Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Argenis Brito y Andrés Bucci. Es precisamente en las presentaciones en vivo donde se puede apreciar de mejor forma su trabajo musical, caracterizado principalmente por adoptar la improvisación como hilo conductor del set, y el uso de muestras de sonido como estética fundamental de su sonoridad. A partir del impulso proporcionado por nomucho, en julio del 2007, es escogido por vodka Absolut para participar en el proyecto "Absolut Lomo" como uno de los jovesnes artistas emergentes de Santiago. Así mismo en Octubre de ese mismo año es invitado a participar del festival de cultura digital MicroMutek realizado en Santiago, el cual reunió a artistas tales como Marc Leclair (Akufen) y Taylor Deupree. Actualmente tiene 25 años y se encuentra trabajando como arquitecto y preparando nuevos materiales musicales. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Sebastián Mella, was born in Santiago of Chile, is a self-taught musician and architect from the University of Chile (Universidad de Chile). He began his musical work in a rock band in 1999 (CCS). After two years, CCS ends and he starts the research for new tools with the purpose to construct his own project and compose freely. This is how “Fantasna” was born, with characteristics as the use of samples, textures and rhythmics patterns that belongs mainly to the dancefloor. In 2005, he joins to Nomucho, collective and netlabel from Chile, that allows him to share the same musical interest with other people in the label, specially with Jefferson Family, band that together had created endless live jam sessions in several clubs of Santiago. At the same time, this platform brings him the oportunity to expose his produccions. Thanks to the constant activity of Nomucho, Fantasna was able to share scenes with important nacional and international artists, such as Cabanne (Minibar, Perlon), Jacek Sienkiewicz (Recognition, Cocoon), Yoshihiro Hanno (Op.Disc, Telegraph), Receptor (Sushitec), Dario Zenker, Bruno Pronsato, and others. He also took part of the “Quinto Sol” festival, in “Muelle Barón”, Valparaíso, with Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Argenis Brito and Andrés Bucci. In fact, is in live presentations when you can appreciate in a best way his musical work, characterized by adopting the improvisation as a conductive thread of the set, and the use of samples as a fundamental esthetic of this sonority. From the impulse of Nomucho, in July 2007, was chosen by Absolut vodka to participate in the “Absolut Lomo” proyect, as one of the young emergents artists from Santiago. Likewise, in the same year, in October, was invited to the MicroMutek festival, in Santiago, with artists like Marc Leclair (Akufen) and Taylor Deupree. MUTEK_INFOS - Novembre 2007 SAISON MUTEK EN AMÉRIQUE LATINE "El micro mutek organizado en santiago conformaba nuestro cuarto paso por la capital chilena desde el año 2003- Este año, dos salas fueron implementadas en un nuevo espacio de difusion, llamado Industria cultural. En el programa encontrabamos, por una parte un segmento más contemplativo, donde se priorizo el trabajo audivisual siempre presente en mutek y por otra parte, en la otra sala, encontramos las permutaciones mas ritmicas de la musica electronica, con un predominio de artistas locales.Este evento atrajo a un grupo de apasionados que fueron recibidos con performances de primera clase tales como el artista chileno LEM, la presentacion del especialista en el micro ambient, el neoyorkino taylor deupree, asi como tambien la presentacion en vivo del proyecto 5 mm de los montrealenses gabriel coutu dumont y marc leclair.En la segunda parte de la velada, se pudieron presenciar las presentaciones del artista local Fantasna y del brasilero Nego Mozambique, las cuales fueron particularmente apreciadas por el publico presente." ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// MUTEK INFOS – November 2007 SAISON MUTEK EN AMERIQUE LATINE- "MicroMutek, organized in Santiago, was our fourth time in the chilean capital since 2003. This year, two rooms where implemented in a new difusion space, called Industria Cultural. In this program, we found, in one hand, a more comtemplative segment, where was prioritized the audio-visual work, always present in Mutek; and in the other hand, in the second room, we found the more rhytmical presentations of electronic music, with a predomination of local artists. This event attracts a group of passionated that were welcome with first class perfomances, such as the chilean artist LEM; the presentation of the microambient specialist, Taylor Deupree, likewise the live presentation of 5mm project of the montreal Gabriel Coutu Dumont and Marc Leclair. In the second part of the night, we were able to see the presentations of local artist Fantasna and the brasilian Nego Mozambique, ones that were particulary appreciated by the people."
