  • Bob Berdella

In the Northeast Film Group's feature film Berdella , Seth Correa plays
local Kansas City junk merchant Bob Berdella. By day Bob runs Bob s
Bazaar Bizarre, a booth at the local Westport Flea Market. When Bob isn t
busy with his day job he is active in the community helping troubled
youths get off hard drugs, providing shelter for those without, and
filling the stomachs of his guests with homemade chili.    The movie
chronicles the daily life of Bob Berdella between the years 1984 and
1988. During this span Berdella picked up a total of 7 young men. He
then drugged and tortured them for weeks at a time, all in an attempt to
brainwash them and turn them into his sex slaves to satisfy his
fiendish urges. The story is based off actual events that took place in
midtown Kansas City, Missouri in the Hyde Park neighborhood.    The
horrors of 4315 Charlotte Street are some of the most disturbing and
violent acts of terror ever committed. Shown here for the first time in
uncut format. Berdella is currently becoming one of the most
controversial movies ever made. The following feature contains explicit
subject matter. This is the biographical portrayal of America s most
    heinous and unknown serial killer.

More than 70 long feature movies in preview (worldwide, European, Belgian), blending unknown gems and expected blockbusters, the program of the 28th BIFFF edition remains very eclectic and calls the most interesting artists throughout the world to quench the thirst of the 60.000 visitors who crowd the site every year.

Beyond the movies, the BIFFF is also an incredible universe to discover, where imagination reigns supreme and declines itself in many ways. For the big fans of make-up, they will be spoiled for choice between the 23rd Body Painting Contest – genuine aquarelle leotard parade, and the 26th Make-Up Contest, open to everybody and outrageously free!

But the 7th art is also conjugated with the 9th art (a Belgian obviousness, isn’t it?): bolstered by last year’s success, the 2nd Comics & DVD Market will settle down again in the BIFFF village, as well the 7th Manga Market with its whole load of new publications. While talking about the land of the rising sun, let’s also mention the Japanimation Day with its old fashioned cartoons we grew up with, its rated mangas and above all the 3rd Cosplay Contest (Costume play for those who didn’t follow) that allows the diehard fans to pay a tribute to their favorite heroes with amazing costumes.

For the less contemplative visitors, the BIFFF has other alternatives: the early risers looking for some exercise will be able to stretch their legs in the streets of the capital, disguised as zombies during the well named Zombie Parade, and participate to a life-sized role-play in the center of Brussels! As for the revelers, do we have to mention the cult Vampire Ballroom – fancy dress ball and orgy – that celebrates its 25th birthday this year.

To avoid coming up with a leisure encyclopedia of the BIFFF, let’s name also the Steampunk expo, the Belgian Film Day, and also the Fantastic Night! Of course, we won’t let you starve: at any moment, you’ll be able to have a quickie at the “Trolls” bar or to stuff yourself at the village’s restaurant for a foolish price. By the way, one more thing: the entry to the BIFFF village and most of its activities are totally free. Ain’t that fantastic?
