"Salute to The Fridays untuk lagu Retro Fashion Victims. Sarcasm kau aku suka. Owh. And your performance style too." - blogger Senandung K, on the band's performance supporting Mocca, Zouk Mainroom 17th Aug 2008
"Ini band lima bintang!" - Fathullah Luqman Yusuf
Perhaps in my view The Fridays display music which represents the voice of triumphed rejects, out casted, those who live in the corner of the class, those who don't give a fuck about the system...average daily heroes facing the already fabricated, plastic and materialistic world." - Stalin Mark of UnderOneLabel Webzine
"What the fuck is this band hanging around in i-bands? They could be the next OAG..." - Siang, Umbrella Records exec, meaning NO disrespect at all for www.i-bands.net
"One of the many promising young bands on MySpace which have really snagged my ears. An almost perfect balance of great indie melodies, with some jangle and bits of punkish barre chords for a bit of dirt. Also blessed with confident singing and songwriting (a rare quality amongst new local bands)." - Joe Kidd, RICECOOKER
"Who the hell are these guys?" - Half the crowd at I-bands Music Showcase 2, Tunestone Studio Klang, Aug 2006
"Best performance of the night. It's not easy to be the first, but these guys pulled it off. The Fridays rocked, and thank goodness their sarongs didn't come off. Easily my favourite 'real' band that night." - Joshua Chay, blogger, on the band's performance at Operation Just Cause, Sunway Lagoon, Dec 14th 2007
Why The Fridays?
The very essence of The Fridays as a name is simply an unassuming, practical name that works.
Powered by junk food, sodas, boredom and the undying belief that pop music can save the world, Acap F the box bedroom rebel, Adib Azhari the local pinup boy, Chey Bacteria the mild-mannered suburban punk rocker, Yan Jimbit the guitar anti-hero, Said Manzarek the brooding thinker and Wan Bellon the child prodigy make up the band that is currently the independent scene's best kept secret (slugging it at Zouk KL opening for the mighty Mocca and swinging out alongside Estranged and The Times for MTV Asia at Sunway Lagoon yet still exuding this vibe of effortless small town-ness). Naive but at the same time biting, and real but at the same time soaked in dreaminess, few have left a Fridays' show without being touched in some way or another (sama ada menyampah atau suka, between the two lah).
Basically the music can be described as bad-pop-music-played-by-easily-satisfied-simpletons, but independent pop with substance, played as catchiest as possible, married with punk rock leanings in all the right places is obviously a better description. Independent pop laced with ironic optimism. Yeah, that's it.

"Steal your sister's babydoll dress and let's rock out like it's 1994..." 2006 - My Blur Baby EP (Self Released) Release Date: August 5th 2006 Produced by The Fridays and Kamaraiz Kamaruzzaman
The 'cute one'. Comments include "Treading dangerously between painfully sweet pop melodies and driving rock & roll..." and "A guilty pleasure...". My Blur Baby was recorded at ArtXCite Studio in one night on July 9th 2006 and was released on August 5th 2006 at I-bands Music Showcase 2 at Tunestone Studio Klang.
"I wanna try and date Natalie and Serena C..." 2007 - Underdosing EP (Self Released) Release Date: Feb 15th 2007 Produced by The Fridays and Kamaraiz Kamaruzzaman

just arrived in the national forest yesterday. In Southern Colorado mountains, USA> I saw some chipmonks, and a deer, and a fox and a coyote crossed the road. And some other animals, I got out of the car, and there were so many mosquitos on my arm! So i brushed them off and got back in the car right away, and closed the window.
