There comes a point in every band's carreer...
when they think they have to make a concept album about a book they looked up on wikipedia or a movie they saw while high. For Fantastic Mammals, that time is right now. Being a band for a little over a year and having nearly double-figure listenership, the band now feels they are mature enough to write a conept album.
A concept is born...
The idea of making a concept album came to Sean whilst drinking paint thinner at his favorite hardware store. Calling upon his bandmates and friend Garrett to initiate the conception of the concept album, Sean stumbled out of the harware store and vomited blood up on the sidewalk as me mumbled incoherently about cats and dueling.
Meanwhile, in Eric's car...
Eric and Mike were brewing up ideas of their own.
"Our music isn't visual enough" said Eric. "I have an idea for a bassline!" said Mike. They then meandered to the FM clubhouse and Mike spent about an hour trying to get Eric to play a "70's car chase funk drum part" (whatever the hell that sounds like). After playing a cliche funk bass line for about two more hours, Mike forgot it.
Meanwhile, at some drunken house party...
Eric gets the brilliant idea of using a double bass pedal on every part of every song.
"It'll help us get that visual sound" he told Sean and Mike. They then wrote about half of a song and went to get tacos.
The future is now!
The (Fatnastyk) Mammals have returned once again to save their friends from emo synth-pop bands. With their all-new studio, "All-Sports Studios", FM is geared up to sit around and do crossfades and point out bad frequencies to eachother.
We are currently in the studio crafting new songs. please check back often, as we plan on updating everyone with new videos/blogs/pictures etc.. throughout the recording process
our next record "Dueling Protocats" will be available early January.
