Biography-

From the very beginning music has been a part of her realm. Farah was hypnotized by the magic of music at a very early age. Her gift is inherited from her Mother who is an East African/Indian Gospel Singer/Songwriter. Born and raised in Vancouver, BC Canada, you could hear Farah's voice, untamed and immature reciting hymns with no precedent to traditions…she sang with a different swagger and added elements of distinction heard in her music today.

I was discovering myself through words, melodies and that is when I found the antecdote for my life. Every adolescent revolution, whether it was rebellion or transformation, every annoyance and every lasting memory had a dedicated song. My memories are listening to stolen mix tapes and playing them on my answering machine. It was a very interesting time in my life…I never knew what the possibilities were, that I could make my future anything I wanted. I met lifelong friends… PRINCE, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Billy Holiday, Nina Simone, Abida Parveen, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and into present day Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Jazmine Sullivan, Keyshia Coles, Joss Stone and so many other artists/bands.

Farah performed live for the very first time when she was 18 at The Michael J. Fox Theatre in Burnaby, BC at a community event, her debut song was “I will always love you”. That was when the dream finally surfaced and the journey began. Farah moved to Chicago to pursue her career as a professional singer and with no formal training in music, no vocal coach and no musical theory she blossomed into what is now considered the voice of power and passion. She has been named in countless competitions as one of Chicago's Best Undiscovered Artist (BigBreak, Mahoney's Road to Fame), a "Vocal Technician"(BigBreak), a" Dynamic Force of Talent that cannot be kept a secret any longer"( Brent Music Management, Centerstage).

In 2006, Farah released her debut album "Twist of Fate" and has been independently promoting her music in venues all across Chicago, LA, Canada, Pakistan and India. In 2008, she recorded and wrote on an Indian track with English lyrics titled "Bandeya Ho" soon becoming a recognized talent in India. The song was the theme title track for a controversial movie called "Khuda Key Liye" also known as" In the Name of God" . The movie was an international hit creating a buzz and added exposure for Farah.

Like Farah, her sound is versatile, all encompassing, passionate and full of life. Her influences span across different genres and the music she creates and sings is universal ~ she speaks to you on a level that is mesmerizing. Farah is a songstress and a storyteller.
