Compilation of Kuching Band and what your role in the music scene before the vicious cycle take over... - 23, Oct 2006
Dear all Kuching Bands;
Under1label is planning to come up with a compilation featuring Kuching Underground bands.
The concept of the compilation is complete i.e The cover designs and etc.
However I am still looking at the budget and doing my research of what is the best method of publication/distibution.
This Compilation is to mark the new age of Kuching emerging bands.
Under1label plans 3 series of compilation; base on genre and music.This is due to we don¡¦t want the genre to be so from each other.I¡¦ve done my research and have listed down potential bands in the first instalment of the compilation.
1) Borneo Republic Renaissance Compilation Volume#1: Various (indie-alternative-garage-emo-pop)
2) Borneo Republic Renaissance Compilation Volume #2: Various (hard core-metal-grindcore-screamo-emo-
rapcore)
3) Borneo Republic Renaissance Compilation Volume ##3: Various (Pyschedelic rock-indie-metal-grind-garage-alternative)
Budget printing&cd pressing: RM 2500
Promotion: Depends on the bands itself.Media research from othe bands are most welcomed.
Tulen Sticker: 1000 pcs: RM 300
Mastering and EQing for all songs: RM 350
Total project cost: RM 3200(plus/minus)
Pre Production of Compilation:
1) Gathering interested bands and arrangement of the direction of songs and genres.
2) Cover designs-Due to budget constraints; two major colours are used to the cd cover.However we will find more sponsors and budget in order to obtain a more attractive colour and interesting CD cover.
3) Research on obtaining copyright of the publication which consist of the Tulen Sticker and proof read of whether the materials involved in the song are not politically influenced/sensitive issue etc.We will come up with a guideline for that soon.
4) Pricing and budgeting regarding the printing cost and also the pressing cost.
5) Mastering all the songs involve in the compilation is one most important thing to take account of.
6) Distribution and publication.
7) Promo and media team research.
