Far From Folsom makes it their mission to bring a live and energetic representation of the legend himself, Johnny Cash, to every show. Formed in early 2008, Ted Meek, Shawn Jackson, Dean Marold and Anthony Schumann have been giving their all in paying tribute to Johnny Cash and his music.
Although the band members arose from various musical backgrounds, their interests meet at the musical crossroads that is Johnny Cash's music. Young and old are sure to “hear that train a comin’” as classics such as Walk the Line, Get Rhythm, and I Got Stripes come alive again. “We’ve really been amazed at the enthusiasm we’ve been getting from the younger fans. I had never thought Cash’s appeal crossed so many boundaries,” explains Schumann. They have enjoyed performing at a wide assortment of venues ranging from indie rock bars like Springwater to more mainstream Nashville staples like 3rd & Lindsley Bar & Grill. They also do events like weddings, community events, private parties, and corporate events.
Far From Folsom consists of highly-skilled and passionate musicians who bring excitement and joy to any audience. Everyone agrees that Far From Folsom fits any occasion, from punk rock dives to black tie events.
