About FAR FROM THE DANCE

A high energy quartet with an impressive knack for memorable song writing Far From The Dance formed at school in the late nineties whilst living in West Yorkshire. Now residing in London ‘the boys’ take influence from a plethora of artists including Radiohead, Elbow and Pink Floyd. Indeed, Far From The Dance are so committed to their sound and the UK music scene they have performed over 500 gigs nationally and released two EP’s – both to critical acclaim. Without a recording deal to date the band have featured on Steve Lamacq’s Radio 1 show, performed at top festivals such as the o2 Wireless in Hyde Park & supported bands such as MSI at a sold out Manchester Academy 2. Thom Meighan of Kasabian has also been impressed by the band claiming their incendiary live show is, ‘Mozart punk.. Tight as f!@k’.

Having written and recorded a clutch of new material during the autumn of 2008 Far From The Dance are now back on the road with several shows in London and plans in place for some festival appearances and touring over the summer.
