Amidst the rolling hills of Berks County, twenty minutes outside of the familiar streets and city lights of Reading rests a dingy barn set on a patch of wooded land on the outskirts of Fleetwood. It's inhabitants have changed over time, but there has been one constant presence there throughout the last several years: one of the true original rock bands of the Lehigh Valley, Far From Westfall.

Several years ago, the band started out where all bands do: playing coffee shops, benefits, and bars with barely enough room to breathe, let alone set up a full set. Slowly, through word of mouth, their local fan-base began to grow, and they were able to guarantee larger crowds to slowly make their way up.

Since then, Far From Westfall has been stirring up the scene, constantly performing in bigger and better venues. Playing in such city hotspots as The Silo in Reading, Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown, Grape Street Pub and The Trocadero in Philadelphia, The Continental and Lions Den in New York City, and getting airplay in PA's 93.3 WMMR, 95.1 WZZO, and others have all helped to bring the band to a new level of awareness in the public eye. With the continuation of constant gigs, fan support, and media, the band has a very bright future ahead. Quite a long way from their first show in a little town called, you guessed it, Westfall, PA.

But, enough about coming a long way. When it comes to writing a band bio, Far From Westfall is more than willing to give something honest and new; something that would truly let you know what we're all about.

When it comes to todays music, we are all aware of that fact that the marketing geniuses have traded in great music with true heart, for pretty faces with potential to sell on that alone. Far From Westfall is a group of artists who have collectively combined their efforts to break the mold and reintroduce the reason true musicians make music: to help others experience every feeling, from the lowest lows to the highest highs, through music and lyrics alone.

About the band members:

Drew (drummer) was born in 1964, a son of an albino arabian prince from Istanbul. When he was old enough to haggle he sold his stock of thirteen camels for a visa, a cow bell and a boat trip to America. After circumnavigating the globe several times and developing a love for mangos he landed in New Jersey where he stayed for thirty long years. In 2001 he enrolled in Kutztown University to study picture taking. It was then when he helped form the band Far From Westfall.

Ed (lead vocalist) was raised by large black-tailed squirrels the the Northern Appalachian Rain Forest before time was time. He fed on a strict diet of beats, peas, and pomegranates. It was the legumes which gave his voice it's unique angelic timbre. In 2000 he left home and learned stuff at Kutztown University. It was here where he begat Far From Westfall.

Matt (lead guitar) flew in from the enchanted waters of Lake Erie riding a school of spastic prepackaged sea-bass in the summer of 2008. He stole his first guitar from a poor deaf man when he wasn't looking. Through his superior knowledge in entropy, his energy made its way to Kutztown in 2001 to form the band Branded. Being one of the rare 1.27% of the population who consciously moves backwards through time, Matt has long since made the big time and sadly awaits the day the band began.

Leon the sanitary (bass guitar) was born from the dirt of west Texas and grew up raised by a family of gophers and coyotes. Inspired by the southern tunes of ground squirrel tradition, he knew music was the only direction in life he wanted to take. After building his first bass from a majikal dead mesquite tree and stringing it with enchanted goat floss and tarantula hairs, he wove majikally delicious basslines that eventually took him to Pennsylvania, where he met other musicians through a fancy new invention called ‘The Internet’. He also learned that old man Clemens hates shit and then joined Far From Westfall.
